💜 Ashley & James | Westbury Wedding
A few more favourites from Ashley and James’ wedding at All Saints Church in Westbury back in July.
It was an incredibly hot summer's day, so rather than keeping them out in the sunshine for ages, we kept their couple photographs short, relaxed and close to the church.
And sometimes that works perfectly. 📸
Just around the corner were these gorgeous old houses, full of character, red brick and greenery — a lovely backdrop for a few natural photographs of the newlyweds. We even managed to include their rather smart Jaguar wedding car!
I particularly love the walking shots. Nothing complicated, nothing overly posed — just Ashley and James enjoying a few minutes together before heading off to celebrate with everyone.
Wedding photography should fit your wedding, not the other way around. ❤️
📅 2027 dates are booking up and I'm now taking bookings for 2028.

Did you know I photograph parties and celebrations too? 🎉📸

This photograph comes from a brilliant wedding anniversary party I photographed in Devon last year.
Dee booked me to capture her mum and dad’s wedding celebration as unfortunately she couldn’t make the party, she is a fabulous world renowned yachtswoman and was in the Atlantic! Her Mum and Dad both play in Torrington Brass Band, so naturally the band played at their own anniversary celebration too!
But one of the highlights of the evening came when their two sons and friends decided to dress up as their own version of the band and perform a tremendous rendition of YMCA. 😂

And at the end, one of their sons quite literally jumped for joy — perfect timing for the camera!

Weddings are a huge part of what I do through Dorset Wedding Photos, but through my main brand, Paul Brewer Photography, I also photograph birthdays, anniversaries, parties, proms, corporate events and all kinds of celebrations.
Party and event photography starts from just £190.

So if you’ve got a special celebration coming up and would love relaxed, natural photographs of everyone actually enjoying themselves, feel free to get in touch.
Sometimes the best photographs are the moments nobody could possibly have planned. ❤️📸

🫧 Who says you need confetti?
These are from Ashley & James’ wedding at All Saints Church in Westbury back in July, where they decided to do something a little different for their church exit — bubbles!

And photographically, I absolutely love them.

Against the darker doorway of the church the bubbles really come alive, catching the sunlight and adding lots of little splashes of colour around Ashley and James as they walk out as newlyweds. ❤️

They’re also great fun. Everyone can get involved, from the youngest guests to the oldest, and because bubbles are completely unpredictable you get lots of genuine smiles, laughter and little moments happening around you — exactly the sort of things I love capturing.

It was another scorching summer's day, but a fabulous wedding and a wonderfully colourful way to begin married life.

So, wedding question: bubbles or traditional confetti? 🫧🌸

I’m currently taking bookings for 2027 and 2028, with wedding photography starting from just £325.

💜 KIRSTY & RYAN | WEYMOUTH RUGBY CLUB | 27.06.26 💜
From the first time I met Kirsty and Ryan, they were very clear about one thing — they didn't want their wedding to be too formal. They wanted it to be fun.
So that was exactly how we planned the photography.
We agreed the timings beforehand, kept the family photograph list nice and short and left plenty of their day free for them to actually enjoy being married!
It was an incredibly hot June day, so we adapted things as we went. Some family members weren't able to comfortably move around for photographs, so rather than making them come to me, we brought the photographs to them and used the marquee where necessary.
Kirsty and her bridesmaids arrived in style before a gorgeous outdoor ceremony overlooking the countryside surrounding Weymouth Rugby Club.
And after the ceremony…the fun really began.
BBQ food, giant Jenga, Guess Who?, croquet, a bouncy castle and a bucking bronco courtesy of A1 Bouncy Castle Hire. 😂
Weymouth Rugby Club's huge grounds were absolutely perfect for the sort of wedding Kirsty and Ryan wanted — relaxed, informal and full of things for their guests to do.
I love photographing weddings like this because so much of the story happens naturally.
Congratulations again Kirsty & Ryan. 💜

💜 VENUE GUIDE | WEYMOUTH RUGBY CLUB 💜
I photographed Kirsty and Ryan's whole wedding day at Weymouth Rugby Club and it really showed just how much this venue has to offer.
The outdoor ceremony area has a fantastic backdrop looking towards the countryside around Lorton and Lodmoor, while the huge amount of open space gives couples plenty of freedom to make the day their own.
Kirsty and Ryan had a beautiful outdoor ceremony, a spacious marquee reception, BBQ catering, lawn games, a children's inflatable and even a bucking bronco!
The clubhouse has the bar and facilities right beside the wedding area, while The Caddy Shack on site is also a cracking place for breakfast before everything gets started.
And despite the countryside feel, you're only a short distance from Weymouth town centre, with hotels, B&Bs, Premier Inns, camping, holiday accommodation and even summer caravan pitches available nearby.
It's a brilliant option for couples looking for a relaxed, spacious and informal Dorset wedding venue.

❤️ Rebecca & Edward | A summer evening in Dorset
Another little sneak peek from Rebecca & Edward’s wedding, which I’m busy editing at the moment.
After their ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Wareham, celebrations continued at the TA Centre in Dorchester, and later in the day we headed out onto the field to make the most of that gorgeous summer evening light. ☀️📸
After such a hot day, the softer golden light was absolutely beautiful — and, of course, there was one very important member of the family who had to join Rebecca and Edward for a photograph! 🐾❤️
I’ve given this one a slightly cinematic finish with the letterbox bars — I think the wide open landscape, long shadows and evening sky really suit it.
Sometimes wedding photography is simply about finding the right place, at the right moment, and letting the light do the rest.
Congratulations again Rebecca & Edward — lots more from this wonderful Dorset wedding to come!

💜 Group photos don’t have to be dull!
One of the things I loved about Emma & Kenneth’s wedding at Haselbury Mill was just how much fun everyone was willing to have in front of the camera!
Of course, there’s always a place for those classic family and wedding party photographs — they’re an important record of everyone who shared your day. But once we’ve got those safely captured, why not have a little fun? 😄📸
Forget everyone standing perfectly straight and staring at the camera. Throw some bouquets in the air, make each other laugh, steal a kiss in the middle of the group… and sometimes just let everyone be themselves!
That’s when you often get the photographs that really capture the personalities of the people who were there.
And as these pictures from Emma & Kenneth’s fabulous day show, group photos definitely don’t have to be boring! 💜
Even the younger guests found the perfect way to relax in the sunshine with a few rather impressive lollipops! 🍭😂

☀️ Just married in Poole — with a touch of cinema! 🎬❤️

Following on from yesterday’s photographs of Claire and Chris at Poole Guildhall, we headed outside to make the most of the beautiful summer weather in Hamworthy.

And it really was hot 🥵! The normally green grass had been turned golden by the long, dry spell and, with the colourful beach huts and blue sky in the distance, it made a fabulous backdrop.

But wedding photography is also about reading the situation and adapting. Chris was starting to feel a little faint in the hot sunshine, so I worked quickly, got the photographs we wanted and made sure we didn't keep him standing out in the heat any longer than necessary.

You really don't need to spend ages posing to get a memorable wedding photograph.

For this one I also added the cinema bars in the edit. With that huge landscape, the couple in the centre and all that wonderful space around them, I thought it gave the finished photograph a proper cinematic feel . 🎬

And I think Claire and Chris look absolutely fabulous — sunglasses were definitely the right accessory for this wedding! 😎

❤️ Just married at Poole Guildhall!
Claire and Chris tied the knot at the beautiful Poole Guildhall on 1st August, and this little sequence is one of my favourites from their ceremony.
There’s something lovely about capturing the few seconds immediately after a couple are officially married — that look of “we’ve actually done it!”, followed by the kiss and then a wonderful embrace.
Individually they're lovely photographs, but put together they tell a little story, and that's one of the things I love most about wedding photography. It's not only about creating beautiful portraits; it's about watching for those expressions, reactions and fleeting moments that make every wedding different.
And Chris certainly looked the part in his kilt!
Congratulations again to Claire and Chris. It was a real pleasure being there to capture such a special day for you both. ❤️
Poole Guildhall is also a fabulous setting for a wedding, right in the heart of Poole and with plenty of opportunities for photographs afterwards.
If you're planning your own wedding, I offer everything from simple two-hour wedding photography through to full-day coverage, so you don't need to be planning a huge wedding to have your story professionally captured.
2027 is already booking up and I'm now taking bookings for 2028.

That just-married feeling 🤍✨
A few favourites from Emma & Kenneth’s wedding at Haselbury Mill in August — and I absolutely love the energy in these.
Confetti shots are always a little unpredictable, which is exactly why they’re so much fun. You never quite know where it’s going to fly, who’s going to get covered in it (ually me!) or what expressions you’re going to capture.
Emma and Kenneth caught up in the moment here and loving every second!
And that final kiss, surrounded by their family and friends. ❤️
These are the moments I really enjoy photographing: joyful, natural and completely unscripted.
Dates are already starting to book up for 2027, and I’m now taking bookings for 2028 too, with wedding photography from only £325.
If you’re planning your wedding and like relaxed, natural photography that lets you enjoy the day rather than spend it posing for the camera, I’d love to hear from you.
