One of my favourite moments of any wedding day is that first entrance into the reception room as newlyweds.
Here are Jayne & Rob arriving at their wedding reception at the beautiful Aldwick Estate near Bristol. After the emotions of the ceremony, this is often the moment when the celebrations truly begin – greeted by cheers, applause and the people who matter most.

💍 A little reminder for couples planning their wedding...

Over the past few weeks, I've had to turn away several wedding enquiries because the dates were already booked.

If you've found suppliers whose work you love, it's always worth securing them as early as possible. Popular wedding dates, especially spring and summer weekends, can disappear surprisingly quickly!

I never like disappointing couples who get in touch only to find I'm no longer available, so if you're planning a wedding in 2026 or 2027 and are considering photography, don't leave it too long to enquire.

Whether you're planning a full-day celebration, a church wedding, registry office ceremony or an intimate gathering, I'd love to hear about your plans.

☔ Rain or ☀️ Shine? Which wedding day would you choose?

One of the things I love about wedding photography is that no two weddings are ever the same.

The first image is from Caroline and Robert's wedding on Swanage Pier in September 2024. It was one of the wettest wedding days I can remember – we were absolutely soaked! But with a colourful umbrella, dramatic skies and a couple determined not to let the rain spoil their day, we created a photograph that perfectly captures the atmosphere of the moment.

The second image is from Jen and Richard's wedding on Swanage Pier last July. Instead of rain clouds, we had glorious sunshine, blue skies and temperatures that had everyone searching for a bit of shade!

Two weddings. Two seasons. Two completely different weather stories.
The lesson? Don't worry about the forecast.

Whether it's sunshine, showers or somewhere in between, there are always opportunities to create beautiful, memorable photographs. Sometimes the weather you didn't want ends up creating the photographs you love the most.

🍻 Boys will be boys...
While the ladies were busy being sensible, Adam and his groomsmen took a few moments to relax, enjoy a drink and share a laugh at Hotel du Vin Bristol before the celebrations got into full swing.
I love capturing these candid moments. The conversations, the banter, the stories being told and the friendships that have often lasted for years. They're just as much a part of the wedding day story as the ceremony itself.
The black and white treatment felt perfect for these images, highlighting the expressions, personalities and atmosphere without any distractions. From the serious "album cover" pose on the steps to the laughter and conversations over a drink, these photographs capture exactly what being part of a wedding party is all about.
Because let's face it... put a group of groomsmen together with a drink in hand and there's always a story being told! 😄

😎 Spot the odd one out...

When Adam and Katey gathered with their bridal party for some photos in Bristol's Castle Park on their wedding day, there was one thing that immediately stood out...

Everyone was wearing sunglasses except Adam! 😂

To be fair, with the glorious April sunshine we had that day, the sunglasses were definitely earning their keep. But while the bridal party were busy looking cool, Adam was making sure everyone could see his wedding-day smile!

I love moments like this because they show the personalities behind the wedding. Not every photograph has to be perfectly posed – sometimes it's the fun, unexpected moments that become favourites.

A fantastic day spent celebrating with Adam, Katey, their family and friends in the heart of Bristol.

✨ Sometimes the photos you don't plan become the ones you love the most.
While editing Paige & Adam's beautiful Bristol wedding from 22nd May, I stumbled across this little gem. Bouquets flying, bridesmaids disappearing behind flowers, a flower girl stealing the spotlight, and everyone trying to be in the right place at the right time... or not! 😂
It's not perfect, it's not posed, and that's exactly why I love it.
These are the moments that tell the real story of a wedding day – the laughter, the chaos, the excitement, and the memories that happen in between the "official" photos.
Paige's expression says it all. ❤️

Surrounded by centuries-old buildings, cobbled streets and the unique atmosphere of Christmas Steps, Adam and Katey shared a simple kiss as newlyweds – a moment they'll be able to look back on for years to come.
