B&D's Church Wedding at St. Aldhelms Church in Radipole, Weymouth 💒

This wedding day was beautifully rooted in family traditions. From getting ready in her childhood home, to choosing a church with such personal family connections, to even having the mother of the bride put together all the flowers and styling for the day - everything had family at its heart, and it was really beautiful to see!

We had a wonderful trip out in the wedding car to take portraits at Radipole Park Gardens, and were blessed with some truly wonderful weather for early April. And then the evening reception was full of dancing, mingling and some heartfelt speeches from different members of the wedding party!

A beautiful day, in glorious sunshine, with a simple registrar led ceremony followed by portraits, family photos and evening celebrations at the rugby club. And I think showing that weddings don't have to be worth tens of thousands at big venues to be meaningful, sentimental and beautiful 🥰

The best part of documentary wedding photography are those photos that weren't on your shot list but that perfectly represent what it felt like to be there.

It's your friends laughing through hymns at the church, or it's a quiet moment between a newly married couple, or a flower girl watching excitedly from an upstairs window as the guests arrive. It's having photos that show exactly what your wedding day was like and how it felt to be a part of it - no recreation and no staging, just you and your guests as you naturally are ❤️

Taking time out of your wedding day to go and take portraits is always worth it! Whether it's for 5 minutes or 20, you will never regret the decision to spend a bit of time just the two of you during what can be a very busy wedding day!

That's exactly what B&D did during their April wedding last year. We went for a drive around in their wonderful wedding car, and then for a quiet walk through Radipole Park Gardens which was the perfect spot to take a few photos and have a bit of time to decompress before the evening party.

After choosing to elope in Nashville, this day was the perfect chance to honour family traditions and celebrate with those who couldn't make it to America with them.

A day full of laughter, delicious food, a busy dancefloor and cocktails galore - what more could you ask for!
