18th Monday morning visit today to see how the demolition of the Gateshead Flyover is getting on. Off ramps at Park Lane are now removed and the Durham Road off ramps are just a pile of rubble. Only a small section left to demolish but I suspect it is the area above the Metro line so they will have to be cautious.

What started out as a simple painting job turned into a mammoth task of replacing the old decking and replacing half the fencing. Took me a long time, over 6 weeks but managed to get it all done today thanks to all the good weather we have had and the best apprentice ever (Susan Sheridan). Here are the images of the ongoing work.

This is my 17th Monday morning recording the demolition of the Gateshead Flyover. A big difference from last week with the off ramps removed and the entire flyover on the Park Lane roundabout removed. They are also clearing the ground where the rest of the flyover was.

Back down for week 16 to see how they were getting on with the flyover demolition. Quite a bit happened since last week with both off ramps gone and the roundabout clear of the flyover.

Well that was a bit of a disapointment for our street, too many clouds with just a few partial breaks for a few seconds....

This is the 13th week I have visited the demolition of the Gateshead Flyover, wanted to capture the Park Lane roundabout area on the day it was closed to capture it before they started that part of the project.

Had a ride up to Derwent Reservoir and Pow Hill, on Friday afternoon but no sign of the squirrels unfortunately.
