If you're a regular user of Salt Ayre's cycle track, please note that Ride for Hope, a 24-hour charity cycling event, will take place from Saturday, August 22 to Sunday August 23.
The event aims to raise £18,000 for St John's Hospice and PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de, with participants working together to complete 18,000 laps of the track over 24 hours.
Lancaster City Council is proud to be supporting the Cogset and Lancaster Cycling Club event by providing operational assistance, including fencing, free use of the clubhouse, space for participants' tents and staff support throughout the weekend.
The track will be much busier than usual during the event, so we wanted to make residents and regular users aware in advance.
Why not get involved? Whether you'd like to ride a few laps, take on a longer challenge, join friends or colleagues as part of a team, or simply support from the sidelines, everyone is welcome. The event is open to cyclists of all abilities, with opportunities to ride throughout the 24 hours.
