FAMILY SHOOTS WHEN YOUR FAMILY DOESN'T LOOK HOW YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD...

This is Us.

Does my family look how I imagined it would when I embarked on life as an adult? No.

Are we still a family? ABSOLUTELY YES!

I received a message recently from someone who wanted to book a family shoot but didn't feel they quite 'fit the bill' and was unsure whether they should go ahead.

When you feel like you don't conform to what society deems 'normal' in terms of what your family looks like, it can be quite isolating and may even lead to feelings of shame.

It can result in not wanting to celebrate your family as you could - perhaps a family photoshoot is not something you'd book because you feel you'd be judged, or you'd worry you'd have to explain your family set up and you don't want to.

Well, here I am - single mum to 4 kids, 2 different dads. I've been there, I've felt that slight embarrassment when explaining us, it's horrible, the worry of what others think of me feels heavy and sometimes can prevent me from being myself.

Families aren't dictated by marriage, relationship status, blood, or number of adults. Families are what you've decided they are, blended, inherited, furry even...

Recently I asked a beautiful photographer friend of mine to come and take some photos of me and my family, looking at the images brings me so much joy and I'm so happy I went with it.

This is Us. And we are perfect.

SPRING BANK HOLIDAY MINI SHOOT - TUNBRIDGE WELLS - Sunday 26th May

Come along with your family for a fun filled mini-shoot in Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells.

I have a a few spaces on my spring bank holiday mini photoshoot.

You will get

30 mins of photos and high energy entertainment 😉 for £85

All your photos available to download from my website following the session.

FAQs

Is 30 mins long enough?
In my experience, kids are really fun for about half an hour, then they need placating with snacks and bribes... I work really quickly and am confident I can get the best from your family in 30 mins.

What do we wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in! The beauty of family photos is that in years to come you can look back and regret/applaud your style choices of 2024, your child is obsessed with their superhero costume or princess dress? Great - great fodder for their 18th birthday party!

How many photos will I get?
I don't put a limit on what I give you, so you'll get anything from 25 - 40

Will I pay extra afterwards?
Absolutely not. What I take is what you get, what you get is what you keep to print, put on t shirts, mugs, puzzles... whatever floats your boat.

Why should I book?
Because It's something to do on BH weekend, we'll have fun and you'll end up with loads of photos of your beautiful family, with you in them for a change. You'll also have Christmas and birthdays sorted for aunties/uncles/grandparents etc. etc. for the next year.

For me, family photography is about the in between moments as well as the smiles and poses.

It's about personalities, fun, playing and childhood, exploring outdoors with muddy knees and messy hair. Climbing trees and jumping over streams. It's about adventure.
