Last September we made a visit to the RSPB site at Dungeness....It was a relatively quiet visit but just as we were leaving the reserve, we noticed a group of Cattle Egret....nine in total.
While we observing the group we noticed a similar sized bird join them. A rare visitor to UK....it was a Glossy Ibis.
Here are a couple of shots to whet your appetite. If you want to see more, nip over to the website www.ashdown.photography

Stopped off at Lackford Lakes in Suffolk on the way to Cley marshes just west of Cromer in Norfolk, UK. First Damselfly of the season along with a little Bank Vole having a snack. First visit to Cley Marshes and it didn't dissappoint......I was able to get some shots of a pair of Spoonbills and Swallows all gathering nesting material.

Just over three years ago I had the pleasure of spending a couple of nights on Skomer which is a small island just off the Pembrokeshire coast in south west Wales. It is home to many seabirds but I especially wanted to photograph the little Puffin. With the island being home to the largest population of puffins in the UK that wasn't going to be to difficult (2022 population estimated at around 39,000) With so many around, you had to be very carefull you didn't stand on them. As they would constantly wander between your feet, as you stood on the narrow pathways. Here are a few examples of the photos I have just upload to the website. www.ashdown.photography
