Wrockwardine Wood FC Vs FC Nations First 1-4 in the Changan Premier

Last night’s game saw a proper British evening under the lights after the original Saturday fixture was brought forward, a lot different to the 25-degree heat last weekend. It started calm but quickly turned, with a heavy five-minute downpour, thunder and lightning crashing around the pitch.

Wrockwardine took an early lead after Nations conceded an indirect free kick, but from there it was all Nations. They pushed forward, took control and found the net time and time again.

The second half followed the same pattern, with Nations in control throughout. A couple of yellow cards were shown as the game went on, with the referee keeping things fair and letting it flow.

Off the pitch, there were fewer supporters than usual, but those that made the trip to Telford were right behind the team.

The result puts FC Nations top of the table, with Ellesmere Rangers sitting two points behind.

FC Nations Ercall Rangers Reserves 2026/27

Back home for a scorching afternoon as FC Nations Development faced Ercall Rangers Reserves for the first time this season. An unknown test, with points needed after a difficult run of games. Under blue skies and 25-degree heat, Nations were sharp in the first half and firmly on top.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Nations taking full control and being awarded plenty of free kicks.

The final whistle confirmed a solid three points with a 3–1 win in the Fiat League (TJ Vickers Football League).

FC Nations First Vs Telford Town Reserves 9-0
Telford Town FC

Friday night saw FC Nations run out 9-0 winners over Telford Town Reserves, a result that sends Nations to the top of the table. Nations started on the front foot and never looked back, scoring freely throughout the game with multiple players getting more than one.

The second half continued in the same fashion with Nations in full control, while Telford struggled and picked up a couple of yellow cards as the game went on.

Off the pitch, there were no flares or extras this week, just a strong turnout from the FC Nations supporters backing the team once again.

FC Nations

The first Saturday of the FC Nations calendar ended in a huge 3-0 win away at Allscott Heath Reserves.

Nations started brightly and took control of the game, scoring twice in the first half to take a deserved 2-0 lead into the break. Both goals were brilliantly taken as Nations looked in control from the opening whistle.

The second half continued with plenty of physical challenges and some big tackles as both sides battled throughout.

Just one yellow card was shown during the game, despite the intensity of some of the challenges, before Nations added a third goal to complete a convincing 3-0 victory and secure all three points.

Off the pitch, there were no pyrotechnics or DJs this week, just the travelling FC Nations fans who made the journey down from Shrewsbury to get behind the team.

FC Nations Shrewsbury Up and Comers Men’s Teams

The new TJ Vickers Football League season got underway on Friday evening as FC Nations First welcomed Shrewsbury Up & Comers FC in the opening round of the Changan Premier.

Nations got off to the perfect start, taking the lead after just 2 minutes. Up & Comers responded in the first half though, finding an equaliser to make it 1-1 going into the break.

The second half continued in much the same fashion, with plenty of physical challenges, slide tackles and a couple of cards as both sides battled for the win.
Nations eventually found the decisive second goal to make it 2-1 and secure all three points.

Off the pitch, there was plenty going on too, with flares, pyrotechnics and a hell of a crowd turning out to watch Step 7 football on a Friday night.

A brilliant way to start the new season, and a proper advert for grassroots football.

FC Nations First V FC Nations Development 6-0
FC Nations

Pre-season got underway with an in-house derby as FC Nations First Team took on FC Nations Development.

It was a proper hot one, with the sun beating down, not a cloud in the sky and no wind whatsoever. It was tough going for everyone out there... I even managed to come away with a tan.

Despite the conditions, both teams kept the tempo up and made it a really enjoyable game to watch. The First Team showed their quality and ran out comfortable 6-0 winners, while the Development side will take plenty of positives into the rest of pre-season.

A good afternoon of football and another step closer to the new season.

Ercall Rangers 6–1 Shawbury United Development


It was always going to be a dominant finish, but Ercall needed a win to finish the 25/26 season unbeaten and that’s exactly what they did. A goal inside the first 5 minutes set the tone for what turned into a scorching afternoon. With the sun beating down and temperatures soaring, everyone was feeling it, but the goals kept coming as Ercall ran out 6-1 winners.

The celebrations carried on after the final whistle as the trophy was lifted and Ercall Rangers were officially crowned Division One champions of the Salop Leisure League, securing promotion to the Premier Division, the top tier of the Salop Leisure League.

Absolutely thrilled for everyone involved. An unbeaten season, league champions and promotion. A fantastic achievement and fully deserved.

Shropshire Saturday Challenge Cup Final - Wrockwardine Wood Development FC V Dawley Town FC 1-4

A trip to AFC Telford United’s ground, The Bucks Head, saw Wood Devs face Dawley in a showstopper SFA Cup final. Dawley may have entered as favourites, but Wood Devs made sure it was anything but straightforward. The first half ended 3-0 to Dawley, however a stunning strike from outside the box by Wood meant there was still a game to play. With rough tackles flying in and no cards being shown, it made for a superb and fiercely competitive final. Dawley grabbed another late goal to seal the victory, crowning themselves champions of the tournament in style.
