Some cars just photograph themselves. This Jaguar XJR was one of them. 👀

A recent automotive photography shoot for Car & Classic, capturing this 2008 Jaguar XJR ahead of its upcoming auction.

The aim was simple — showcase the car, highlight the details and create images that make potential buyers stop and take notice.

A project I've really enjoyed recently which took a good couple of weeks to capture, timing the weather right (was before the heatwaves).

I recently had the opportunity to photograph 5 newly redeveloped holiday apartments here in Scarborough, creating the imagery that will be used across their Airbnb listings and marketing.

Alongside the interiors, I also spent some time capturing the exterior of the building and local attractions and amenities to help give potential guests a feel for what they can expect from a stay on the Yorkshire coast.

It's a bit different from my usual automotive photography, but it's been great to work on another local project and help showcase what Scarborough has to offer.

This time it was a 2003 BMW E46 M3 Manual, and what a car it is.

There's something about the E46 that just gets it right. Timeless looks, a manual gearbox and plenty of character. Definitely one of my favourite M cars to photograph.

A few behind-the-scenes moments from a recent family content day at Piglets Adventure Farm. 📸

One of the things I enjoy most about projects like this is bringing everything together. A family day out, creating content for Eddie, testing the Toyota Hilux BEV in a real-world setting and capturing photography along the way. It is also ace to have collaborations like this with attractions like Piglets Adventure Farm.

While I was filming, the family got involved too. My daughter Mimi took charge of the GoPro for a while, the wife ended up in front of the camera and together we captured the day from a few different perspectives.

It's these moments that make the content feel genuine. The vehicle isn't just being reviewed, it's being used as part of a real family day out, while the collaboration creates something that everyone involved can enjoy.

Some shoots are a little more special than others.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph this incredible 1950s Cooper 500 Formula 3 race car for an upcoming auction with Car & Classic

As well as being a beautifully preserved piece of motorsport history, it came with an incredible history file. One of the highlights was seeing photos of Sir Stirling Moss driving the car, along with a signed plaque mounted on the dashboard alongside invitations from Goodwood.

It's moments like these that remind me why I enjoy photographing classic cars so much. Every vehicle has a story, and it's a privilege to help tell it through my photography.

One thing I always try to remember when photographing a car for auction is that the person buying it might never see it in person before placing a bid.

That's why I spend as much time photographing the details as I do the hero shots.

Whether it's the dashboard, switches, trim, engine bay, chassis, imperfections or the little features that make a car unique, it's all part of telling the vehicle's story and giving potential buyers as much confidence as possible.

This recent shoot of a 1934 Triumph Gloria finished with close to 250 images, along with a four-minute walkaround video for the auction listing.

It's the same approach I take on every job, no matter who I'm working for. The aim is always to capture a vehicle as honestly and thoroughly as I can.

Every now and then a classic comes along that really stands out.

I recently had the chance to photograph this 1934 Triumph Gloria for an upcoming auction with Evoke Classics and it’s one of the nicest examples I’ve come across.

For a car of this age, the condition and the history behind it are incredible. You don’t often see something this well kept, especially with so much of its story still intact.

Someone is going to end up with a very special piece of motoring history when it goes under the hammer.
