Yesterday was one of those days you'll remember for a long time. ❤️
In the lead-up to Dean and Laura's wedding, I think we were all keeping one eye firmly on the weather forecast. As it had been forecast rain! But then yesterday arrived... and everything fell perfectly into place.
The sun shone from start to finish, bathing Scarborough in the most beautiful golden light. For a moment, it didn't feel like the Yorkshire coast at all—it felt like we'd all been transported to Corfu.
From the moment Laura stepped into her dress (which was simply breathtaking), to the look on Dean's face as he saw her, the entire day was filled with moments that reminded everyone why weddings are so special. The laughter, the happy tears, the hugs that lasted just a little longer, and the joy shared between family and friends... it was impossible not to be swept up in it all.
The flowers, floral arch bouquets and the little hidden details brought everything together beautifully.
A huge credit has to go to the incredible team at Scarborough Spa. So much of what they do happens quietly behind the scenes, but their hard work allowed the whole day to unfold so effortlessly. And with views and sunshine like that, there really couldn't have been a more perfect setting.
Dean and Laura, thank you for allowing me to witness and capture such an unforgettable chapter of your story. It was a day overflowing with love, emotion and genuine happiness, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a small part of it.
Congratulations to you both. Here's to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and making memories together. ❤️

17 years ago today I married my husband in Skipton North Yorkshire at the beautiful
Such a beautiful day, surrounded by our favourite people.
I'll be offline spending some time with my family but I will be back on with getting galleries live soon, I'm working on the most beautiful maternity shoot at the moment. ♥

I am a firm believer that we shouldn't need pride month,. we should want it.
To let our children know they will always be loved, cared for and supported by us whoever they grow up to be.
To let our friends and family know we are a safe space for them to come to for support and care.

I have so many amazing friends who fit in the LGBTQI+ groups,. and every single one of them deserves love, deserves to be seen and deserves to be safe.
So at the risk of losing a few followers as I so often do when I share these posts,..

So… it’s time to address the elephant in the room: AI.

AI is an incredible tool. It can help with editing, writing posts like this one (although this one is 100% me!), and so many other parts of running a creative business.

But unfortunately, it’s also incredibly good at creating a false sense of trust.

I’m seeing more and more photographers using AI-generated images to advertise their services, and that’s a real concern. The reason? Those images aren’t their work. They’re showcasing a standard of image and consistency they may not actually be able to deliver.

AI editing is clever. It has its place. But it won’t make up for poor photography. It won’t magically transform every image into a perfect one.

And often, when you look a little deeper into someone’s portfolio, you’ll find their real work — and that’s where the true picture becomes clear.

My advice? When booking any photographer, ask to see full galleries.

Not just a handful of highlights — ask to see several complete weddings. I’d suggest a minimum of three galleries: a mixture of full-day coverage, shorter coverage, and ideally weddings photographed in different weather conditions.

Because the reality is, there’s no guarantee of blue skies. And while sunshine can be beautiful, it can also create challenges that inexperienced photographers may struggle with.

Ask the questions before booking so you understand exactly what you’re investing in.

Even photographers who only advertise with their own genuine work are naturally going to showcase their best images — that’s normal. But full galleries allow you to see the complete story: how they capture the quiet moments, the emotions, the details, and everything in between.

A wedding day isn’t a collection of perfectly posed moments. It’s a story, and your photographer should be able to tell the whole thing.

Wedding season is about to hit and I'm ready for it!
Looking forward to working with some lovely couples this year.
I don't know who's photos if any I'll be ok to share on line, I don't even ask that before the day, or before you see the photos.
As far as I'm concerned as lovely as it is for me to be able to share, they are first and foremost your photos, your private day.
So unless you give me specific go ahead to share I will not post your photos anywhere but in your private viewing gallery.
