Choose Love
Do documentary photographers capture the wedding “details”? Of course! But, like any photograph, we always search for ways to bring more story to the frame than simply the object itself.
With the cake placed in the window, we could see opportunity for an alternative perspective, and, stepping outside, we were greeted with an empty table full of empty ch*****ne flutes. We could, of course, choose to frame these out, but where others see mess, we see story. For us, the “aftermath” of a detail is as interesting as the “before” shot, so seeing the opportunity to combine the pristine with the pre-owned we were half-way there. Stepping back to include a lipstick touch-up, we waited for that final piece of magic - in this case the words “choose love” falling into place directly on cue.
