A newborn shoot is so much more than final pretty pictures.

I never underestimate the nerves for every new parent when arriving for their photoshoot, your most precious possession in the arms of a stranger.

I care for them like they’re my own, I adore those newborn snuggles as much as you do, settling them to sleep and making sure they’re snuggled and happy throughout. It all takes me back to my own sweet babies and all the emotions, following mamas intuition is a key part of how I run my sessions.

When they need a feed we stop, we pause for nappy changes, snuggles and just when we may all need a quick breather and a cup of tea!

My sessions are slow paced for a reason, the first few weeks of babies life are filled with unknowns, lack of sleep, healing and the need for peaceful energy. Guiding you all gently throughout, I want the shoot experience to be just as special in the moment as it is when you view those precious photos.

There’s something about welcoming your second baby that makes you bask in the glory of that newborn bubble ten fold.

Yes you know it’s hard but you also know it’s fleeting and your baby will never be this small again.

You know you can’t get this time back and capturing both stages together makes your heart burst….

There is always a sweet spot….

There is absolutely no perfect age…. I have favourite ages for sure but every stage is filled with magic ✨

My newborn sessions are natural and totally baby led so littles ones under 3 months can be snuggled and posed whether sleeping or not 🫶

3 months of smiling perfection, they love kicking their little legs and giggling at Mummy and daddy Daddy. I tend to keep these sessions within an hour before they get tired and grumpy!

Sitting up rocks…. They’re so happy at this age with their new found skills!! The sweet spot here is before crawling starts as smiles are easy and they love cuddles too.

First Birthday sessions are the BEST!! Every 1 year old is different so it’s all about figuring out what makes them tick and aiming for lots of fun, nursery rhymes and throwing them around!!

Really it needs to be before they’re earthside….

I know it can feel so overwhelming with all the prep you need to do for babies arrival, no idea how you’ll feel after birth and the sleep deprivation hitting hard but you will be so thankful to your pregnant self that you took the time to book in that newborn session 🥹🙏

You’ll get all those tricky questions answered when you’re in far more of a frame of mind to take it all in then when baby arrives I simply guide you into the best appointment time.

From arriving at the studio you can bask in your baby bubble and forever get to look back at the newborn scrunch that will change from the second they’re born.

Those first few weeks are tough but with a couple of special hours dedicated to photos, you’ll be able to relax and simply be a little family 🥰

Maternity shoots aren’t just for first time mums…..

That second, third or fourth pregnancy just hits different. You’ve learnt so much about yourself, your baby and what you love about your family.

You know it’s all too fleeting and although you have less time to sit back and think about it, you know full well you need to capture it all….🫶

Go on mama book the shoot, capture your changing body, growing into motherhood, you’ll never regret it.

Tips for every family out there, it really helps to prepare for a photoshoot and by far my best bit of advice is relax!

Too matchy matchy can be abit much…. Instead choose 3-4 complementary colors and mix textures and patterns to create a timeless, effortless look that looks totally natural 👌

I know we all want the best smiles from our kids and let’s be honest we all have a preference 🫣😂 but telling them to smile really doesn’t help. By far the best thing to do is find something they find hilarious and go for it….it I could pocket every single cute giggle behind a photo I would. BEST NOISE EVER!!!!

By far the happiest kids who come in generally haven’t had their routine massively adjusted for the shoot. I also get that all the best laid plans and all that don’t always pan out. Bring an extra snack, the one they rarely get, and always always be prepared for the dreaded teething. Bring your go to along whether that’s calpol, gel or granules as it can really help!

Whenever I am deciding about client outfits from the studio wardrobe I’ll always check what you normally wear. If you never wear dresses I’ll never advise that you go for one today, stick with your normal style but simply elevate it that way you’ll always love your photos!!

We are all guilty for wanting the absolute perfect image…. Myself included. However I am a realist and my kids have been great at making me all to aware of this 😂

Relax, make the kids giggle, make sure you giggle always put having fun above perfection!

Nothing beats seeing a client come back for their baby’s first birthday session ✨

I genuinely love being part of families’ journeys like this. Watching them grow, change,
and become exactly who they are, getting to know each family properly along the way,
and capturing photos that actually reflect them, not just generic shots, but the ones
