It was so lovely to return to Ryeford Ponds Glamping this evening to get a few shots of a wedding taking place there. What a beautiful video right in the middle of the Herefordshire countryside, on such a glorious evening.

We stayed here in Summer 2022 and it was the perfect place to get away from people and disconnect yourself from the world.

Thank you Aldona for asking me to pop along and congratulations to the happy couple.

Tiny planet of the beacon lighting in Ross on Wye. The clever trick with this image is if you turn it upside down, it looks like a different photo - in this instance it'll show the bend in the river.

Delighted to be asked to photograph this event from the air once again. I last did this in June 2022 for the late Queen's jubilee so I'm excited to be doing it a couple of years later.

As usual, the drone will be kept well away from the crowds that form to ensure safety.

If you see me buzzing around, give me a wave! 👋🏻

Join us on Thursday 6th June for the lighting of the Beacon at the Prospect to mark D-Day 80. Beacon will be lit at 9.15pm.

The evening will commence in St Mary’s Church, Ross at 8.15pm with a short multimedia presentation, “The D Day Story” told in video, pictures, music and poetry. The event is free and open to the public, who are asked to be seated by 8.05pm.

Throwback to the peak of the January floods in Ross on Wye. It was about 4.8 metres at this point. I've just taken a look to see what it's at and it's a tiny 1.03 metres.

Happy New Year!

I've had this year off from taking photos as I've been so busy. I was made redundant back in May but this meant I had valuable time with a creation of mine, and most definitely the highlight of my year: Isobel Henderson! 😀 In addition, I started another job which I love a couple of months later.

We had a lovely walk around town today and couldn't resist stopping to look at a photo I took now used on one of the town's digital tourist information points.

Tiny planet photo near Monmouth last weekend.

This is such a cool effect and can also be used on websites such as Google Maps / Street View to give people a 360 degree view of a location. If you have an area of land you'd like visible on Google Maps, please get in touch. I can go places Google Streetview cars can't!

The fog can have devastating consequences for my drone. The sensors on the bottom of it will get confused and think it's near the ground and can start to land. If it thinks it then has landed, the motors will switch off and then it would simply drop out of the air.

The Met Office had previously issued a yellow warning for thick fog. This meant a shoot of a glorious property near Monmouth was in doubt. Thankfully when I woke up there was no fog to be seen, and so we set off.

Once in the air, I could see the fog was coming and I had to be quick. Within minutes it arrived at my location and so the drone had to be packed away. In the picture you can see the fog in the distance.
