Not my usual subject… 🐮

We had our annual trip to Devon/Cornwall last week, and this one was extra special as it was our first holiday as a family of five and we were also celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on the 25th.

We booked the most beautiful cottage, and I’d received my new lens the week before, so I had lots of plans for some beautiful family portraits while we were away!

Unfortunately, just two days into the holiday, we were completely wiped out by the most horrendous bug. Literally my worst nightmare! 😫

So, the only photo I actually managed to capture with my camera was this rather handsome chap🐮😂

Not quite the family portraits I had planned, but I suppose he’ll do! 🤎

Let’s talk about photo consent…📸

One thing I never want is for someone to avoid booking me because they’re worried their photos will end up on social media.

This is actually something I’ve been reflecting on a lot over the last year. My husband and I have had several conversations about social media and how much (and what) we choose to share of our own children. It’s a difficult balance to navigate, especially when photographing children is such a huge part of what I do and I get so excited to share all of those beautiful little faces.

At the same time, I completely understand and respect how important privacy is, and how personal these images are.

Keeping my business going without regularly sharing a portfolio can be challenging, but your family’s privacy will always come first. I will only ever share images if I have your permission, and there is absolutely no pressure to say yes. If you’d prefer your gallery to remain completely private, I fully respect that.

Whether you’re happy for me to share a few favourites, some faceless detail shots, or you’d rather keep every image just for your family, your decision will never affect the experience you receive or the care I put into your session.

The most important thing to me is creating beautiful memories for you to treasure, not for my social media feed.

Your photos are safe with me 😘

I truly love every session I do but these sunset family sessions are really something special 😍
There’s something so beautiful about capturing the chaos of parenthood and creating memories like this.

Life can be so busy with work, school runs, housework and everything else that comes with raising our babies. I love being able to give families an hour or two to simply slow down, be together, and soak up this season of life while I capture it for them.

I’m spending the weekend finishing my last family gallery for July and catching up on emails etc.

Honestly, the last couple of months have been crazy busy and I apologise for not getting back to some of you sooner.…really contemplating hiring someone to help with my admin 🤔😅

This photography malarkey’s not for the faint hearted 😅

It’s 22:48 and I’m trying to hit deadlines I set myself to ensure my Son doesn’t spend another day watching his mother have too much screen time 🫠🤣

I have to give myself the biggest pep talk this time of year because it’s brutal…the additional hours spent editing, uploading and ordering prints etc all the behind the scenes chaos that’s never seen but is very much there!

All that being said, I have the best clients who have shown me so much patience this year as I navigate running a business alongside raising my third mini human - Thankyou all! 💕
