It's been a while since I've shown my face around here so let's do a quick intro for all those who are new here.

Iā€™m Gemma - Photographer, Mum to these two lovelies and FiancĆ©e to my childhood sweetheart. Iā€™m currently holding the world record for the longest engagement of 11 years and counting! But thatā€™s not to say I donā€™t long for my own ā€˜Big Dayā€™, but more a reflection of how life continues to keep me busy - or rather, how I canā€™t say no to new adventures!

My photography journey began at college and then lead to uni where I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography. Five years from where it started, I was carving out a path to a photographic career, convincing my partner to convert our garage into a studio and teaching myself the beginnings of how to start a business. However, if you told a sixteen year old me that I would become a wedding and portrait photographer in the future, I would have told you to fix your time machine! Back then I was busy creating abstract and experimental imagery and calling myself what I coined a ā€˜Photographic Artistā€™. I still have the cringey mock business cards to prove it!

Thankfully, my eccentric teenage years faded out, but it turns out all of that experimentation would set me up to be the photographer with the visionary style I have today - Iā€™m coining it this time a ā€˜Creative Story Tellerā€™ and Iā€™d love to tell your story.
