Not managed to get out as much as I’d like to the past few weeks with different things on. But I managed to get out the other night and headed to Portencross to get a picture of the pier but it was full of people fishing so I played about with some long exposures next to the pier trying to create a sunstar.

I headed along to Prestwick airport yesterday to see the 4 Spanish harriers leave. They were supposed to leave at 10 but didn’t leave till just after 12. Probably the last time we will see harriers in Scotland as they are being retired from service. Here is a small selection from what I managed to get.

The cuckoo is a sub Saharan summer visitor which is only here from April to July. The cuckoo is known for laying its eggs in other species nests. It will call you cuckoo from the trees!

Puffin overload!

On Sunday I headed over to the Isle of May to see the puffins I always thought puffins were a decent size but they are so small about the size of a pigeon. Was a great day even though the weather didn’t play ball and the crossing was very rough.
