Our journey together

Booking a wedding photographer can feel like a lot. So I try to make it feel as un-scary as possible.

It starts with a message from you. Could be a quick “are you free?” Could be a full life story. Both are very welcome 🤍
From there, a real reply, a video call with coffee on both sides, and if it’s a yes from both of us, you book in.

Then comes a planning guide that takes the panic out of timelines, a pre-wedding session to get you comfy in front of the lens, and the day itself, where I’m the calm one in the corner. Topping up your water, reminding you to breathe. It’s a teacher thing, I can’t help it.

Sample gallery within 48 hours. Full gallery 6 to 8 weeks later. Cue happy tears (seriously!)

But after the day is done, My favourite bit is the after. It’s the message that lands a year or two later. The “Sam, we’ve got news.” Or the “WE GOT A PUPPY!” Or the “I’ve finally graduated, can you come to campus?”
That’s the whole reason I do this. Not just one day. All the bits after too.

The kettle’s still on if you fancy a chat 🤍

Fit like? (or ‘how are you’ if you aren’t of doric descent!)

I’m Samantha, a self confessed ‘Chapter’ photographer which means once you book me for your wedding, chances are, ill be popping back up in your life throughout it - newborns, puppies, families, graduations, you name it, I’m there for it ALL.

Before this, I spent years as a primary school teacher, and honestly, it’s the best training I could’ve had for what I do now. Years of calming first-day-of-school nerves, wrangling thirty wee ones into a tidy line for the class photo, and gently coaxing the shy ones out of their shells. Turns out wedding guests aren’t all that different. Slightly taller, occasionally tipsier, but the same gentle approach (and occasional teacher voice) works wonders.

My world has three words: Mark, Alfie and Nero. They are, hands down, the best thing thats ever happened to me. And I think thats exactly why I photograph yours the way I do.
Because I know what these moments mean. The hand squeeze halfway down the aisle. The look your dad gives you before the speeches. The way your mum holds your face for just a second longer.
The quiet bits nobody else sees. Those are the photos I’m chasing all day, because those are the ones you’ll come back to in twenty years.

A wedding is just chapter one. And what makes me different is that I’d love to photograph chapter two, and three, and twenty. The marriage. The babies. The graduations, first home. The family you’re slowly, beautifully building. That’s the bit I really do this for 🤍

If you’ve read this far, we’re probably going to get on. My inbox is always open, and my kettle is always on ☕️

PETERHEAD, but not as you know it….

My home town, the place where I went to school, grew up, met my husband, bought our first home, married, became a mum and raised Alfie.
It holds such a special place in my heart 🤍

And it really saddens me when people say that it is a sh**hole. Yes the weeds may be growing, and the christmas decorations are still up in June (but seriously comon council, get your act together), but there is Beauty there… you just need to look for it.

This shoot has been on my todo list for a VERY long time. The brief, a couple stroll through the streets of Peterhead on a little ‘date day’, through the town centre, drummers corner, stopping into a coffee shop and then for some ice cream before grabbing a cocktail at a local bar.

The ideas been in my head for longer than I can remember and seriously, these blow my thoughts OUT OF THE WATER.

Huge huge thank you to each and every business owner who gave up their time to collaborate on this shoot with me… we’ve made Peterhead look Like the town we know and love, so thank you 🫶🏻🫶🏻

My why has three names.

Alfie. Mark. Nero.

Everything I do - the late nights, the early mornings, the emails sent at 10pm when the house is quiet - it’s all for them. It’s always been for them.

This job takes me to beautiful places and introduces me to the most wonderful people. But the real reason I built it? So I never have to choose between work and the moments that matter most.

So I’m there on sports day. I’m there for slow Sunday Mornings, and I’m at the sidelines when Alfie plays football. I’m present for the ordinary

Tuesday evenings that don’t feel ordinary at all when you stop and actually look at them.

I didn’t build this business to be busy. I built it to be here.

And on the days when the emails pile up and the edits don’t end - I just come back to my why.
Every single time, it’s enough. 🤍

Before the confetti settles. Before the first dance. Before the room full of every single person you love.

There’s this little chapter that I don’t think gets talked about enough.

I spent an afternoon with and Liam recently - wandering through Aberdeen Art Gallery, no schedule, no stress, just the two of them and their story - and honestly? It’s one of my favourite things I get to do as a wedding photographer.

The marble. The light. The way they kept forgetting I was even there. 🤍

They get married later this summer and I genuinely cannot wait. But this - this quiet afternoon before it all begins - this was just theirs. And now they have it forever.

That’s what a pre-wedding session is. It’s not just practice. It’s a whole memory in its own right.

If you’re getting married and you haven’t thought about booking one yet, come and have a chat with me. My wedding package includes a pre wedding for this very reason. And I have a feeling you won’t regret it.

Let's talk about price. Because I know it comes up.

Wall art is more expensive than a digital file. And I completely understand why that gives people pause.

But hear me out - girl maths time. 🧮

A digital file sits on a hard drive. A wall print sits in your home for the next thirty years. Your children grow up seeing it. Your grandchildren will ask about it one day.

Thirty years. That's roughly £21 a year. Less than a penny a day. For something that stops you in your tracks every single morning before you've even had your coffee.

When you put it like that - wall art is basically free. I don't make the rules. 🤍

It isn't a luxury. It's the whole point.

Want to know more about wall art options and pricing? Drop me an email!

Quick question for you - and I genuinely want to know

White backdrop. Always my go-to. Timeless, clean, classic.

But I've recently started offering the softest, most subtle powder blue and blush pink as an option for sessions - and I am absolutely loving how they're coming out.

Would you go for a pop of colour or stick with white? Tell me below!

Imagine this. Your child is grown. They have children of their own. And one day those grandchildren come to visit and point at the wall and say - is that you, Mummy? When you were tiny?

That moment doesn't happen with a hard drive.

It doesn't happen with a phone gallery or a cloud backup or a USB tucked in a drawer somewhere.

It happens with a print on a wall. Something tangible, physical, and completely impossible to scroll past.

Your newborn photos are worth more than a hard drive. Let me show you what they look like at home. 🤍

I tried something a little different recently. Just a whisper of powder blue behind all that white.

I wasn't sure. I'm a white backdrop girl to my core.

But oh my goodness. That soft, muted blue against a newborn? Against all those tiny details and delicate features?

I think I'm converted. Just a little bit. Don't tell anyone.
