Shingle Street on the Suffolk coast has been a favourite photography location of mine for the past five or six years. The landscapes and seascapes are unmistakably Suffolk - raw, atmospheric, and constantly shifting with the seasons. I keep finding myself drawn back to capture its character throughout the year.

This 60 seconds video is an outtake from a short film showcasing the four seasons at Shingle Street - coming soon 🎥 .

One of the most interesting filming projects I’ve worked on recently was for Hellesdon Dental Care in Norwich, Norfolk…..who also happen to be my own dentists!

The brief was to produce a series of promotional videos alongside a portfolio of photography to support the launch of a new website and ongoing social media content.

I collaborated with Norfolk based filmmaker Alex Irven of Fire Pit Media. Alex developed the storyboard, led the main camera work and editing, while I handled mobile gimbal footage, drone shots, and the photography shoots.

Having worked together for over 8 years, often providing aerial drone footage for Alex’s film projects, it was great to combine our specialist skills again to deliver something truly high quality for the client.

Following an initial meeting with Chris, Gerogette and the team at the practice, we completed filming over a full day. The final output included:

• A 2 minute flagship video for the website
• 3 videos highlighting key personnel and technology
• 2 additional edits tailored specifically for social media platforms like Instagram.

This was a unique and rewarding project and a great collaboration once again.

We were also delighted to receive this feedback from the client:
“To Graeme and Alex, thank you for all your dedication and excellent photography and filming. You’re the best!
With kindest regards, Chris, Georgette and the Hellesdon Team.”

Four years ago, I was commissioned to capture 15,000 acres of the Mulgrave Estate in North Yorkshire.

Not in a day. Not in a week.
But across all four seasons.

From golden autumn tones to frozen winter mornings, spring growth to summer light, the brief was to tell the story of a landscape over time — capturing the harvest, the working rhythm of the estate farms, and the people behind it all.

The result? A collection of visuals used across the estate’s website and social media — and still one of the most rewarding projects from my 10 years running a drone photography business.

If you’re looking to bring your landscape, estate, or brand to life through film 🎥 and photography 📷, I’d love to hear from you.

The stunning colours and textures are what make Eystrahorn so incredibly photogenic and this sunrise didn’t disappoint. I've attempted this drone shot on 3 visits and it finally came together. Shot on the Mavic3Cine drone 📷

Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast is one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in the country, known for its dramatic cliffs, rugged scenery, and iconic landmarks such as the Giant's Causeway.

In October 2025, I joined a photography workshop tour organised by landscape photographer Justin Minns Photography to explore and photograph some of the most beautiful locations along this coastline.

This short video showcases camera stills, drone & ground camera video I shot on the trip.

One of my goals for 2026 is to increase my content creation for my YouTube channel. Over the past few years, I’ve edited and published just over 100 videos. While they haven’t generated significant views or traction, that’s not the primary motivation behind creating them.

These videos are filmed during my regular sunrise photo shoots and trips abroad, and most importantly, I genuinely enjoy making them. They also provide an opportunity to experiment with composition and to make full use of my drones and cameras in a non-client setting.

This particular video was shot along the River Stour in Dedham Vale, on the Essex-Suffolk border. On Wednesday 18 December last year, skies over parts of Britain turned a soft shade of pink as low winter sun filtered through layers of widespread fog, creating a rare atmospheric effect.

I was out that morning specifically to photograph the sunrise, having noted forecasts that indicated thick mist and foggy conditions. Occasionally, you find yourself in the right place at the right time. 🎥

Celebrating the New Year - My favourite 12 images of 2025.

It was another bumper year on my landscape photography journey, the January to March winter months were highlighted by two trips to Iceland, which honestly could have filled the entire 12 slots here! I have selected a few from my local patch in East Anglia.

Image 1: First up in early January, was a visit to Tollesbury, Essex for a winter sunrise. This drone shot is looking down a a network of frosty marina walk boards

Image 2: Vestrahorn mountain in eastern Iceland in the afternoon light, a wonderful place to photograph in constantly changing light

Image 3: Godafoss (falls) Iceland was a memorable sunrise. Flying the DJI mini4pro drone in -6 degs temperature with numb fingers!

Image 4: Myvatn Iceland geo thermal fields is an amazing location, especially viewed from above

Image 5: My annual trip to Shingle Street, Suffolk for summer solstice taken @4.48am as the sun rose over the North Sea

Image 6: I had a go at infra red photography for the first time this summer, photo of Bawsey church ruins Norfolk

Image 7: Happisburgh Beach, Norfolk coast - A July sunrise shoot is always an early start, but well worth the visit in serene conditions

Image 8: ‘Chasing the mist’ at Roydon Common - Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve A well planned trip, as it turned out.

Image 9: A fabulous Northern Ireland photo workshop around the Causeway Coast with Justin Minns The Giants Causeway is an iconic composition, we had to wait awhile for the Instagram tourists to vacate to get our shot!

Image 10 - Ballintoy point NI - I could have perched here for hours capturing the swirling water around the rocks.

Image 11: My most popular ‘socials shot’ of the year - a lovely couple posed for us with their red umbrellas at Dark Hedges NI .proudlove

Image 12: Shingle Street winter solstice - finishing up the year at one of my favourite sunrise locations.

*Update to yesterday's post from Dedham Vale*

"Rare pink fog blankets parts of the UK"

"The skies over parts of Britain turned a soft shade of pink on Wednesday morning as the low sun shone through layers of widespread fog to produce the rare atmospheric treat" (The Met Office).

On Wednesday morning I was out with Steve Hobart Photography photographing the sunrise at Dedham Vale on the banks of the River Stour, Suffolk in beautiful misty conditions. On the back of the camera I was picking up a pinkish-purple cast. Initially, I felt it was a tech issue but pushed on composing my pictures. The surreal pink light disappeared after a few minutes and I moved along the river to capture the sun rising over the misty meadows.

As I began editing my RAW images, it was apparent the pink light was quite striking and I was actually tempted to de-saturate them. Later on, I was alerted to reports on social media that it truly was an atmospheric event.

I had planned to be at Dedham Vale on Wednesday, as the forecast was indicating thick mist and foggy conditions. Occasionally, you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. 📷

* A video is in edit to post shortly. 🎥
