Another shot from my recent trip to the Bluebell Woods......

Light is a photographers best friend and shining through the trees here it literally makes an already beautiful scene even more enchanting.

'If you go down to the woods today'........
You might just see a beautiful blanket of Bluebells.

It's difficult to capture in a photograph just how fabulous it was to experience such sheer colourful beauty - it literally was like a purple blanket covering the woodland floor.

The English bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) is an iconic spring-flowering bulb that carpets British woodlands in April and May, often signalling ancient woodland. They are identified by their nodding, violet-blue, intensely scented, and bell-shaped flowers. The UK holds about half the world's population, and they are legally protected.

St Bartholomews Moonrise.......

I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful sky at moonrise - than I did this night at Newbiggin, the low orange moon behind the church literally lit the clouds up red and orange!!
I've taken many moonrises and I don't think I'll ever get another sky as beautiful as this.

An interesting shot here of St Mary's Lighthouse.......

Interesting in the fact that it looks wrong!
Taken from a few miles away down the coast at Marsden, the big telephoto lens creates a strange effect - to the right you can clearly see St Bartholomews Church at Newbiggin but to the far left of the pic you have The Couple Statue (Which is also at Newbiggin and pretty close to the church) so you would expect it to be to the right of St Mary's Lighthouse.

This messes with my mind, how the stacking effect of the zoom lens and the distance/angle of the shot just defies logic.

I promise no Photoshop or editing trickery was involved - just the weird effects of long distance photography and a big zoom lens.

Tynemouth Station.......

Designed by architect William Bell, was originally opened by the North Eastern Railway on 7 July 1882.

Following a significant decline in the number of passengers using the North Eastern Railway's services in North Tyneside during the early 1900s, the line was electrified as part of the Tyneside Electrics network, using a 600 V DC third-rail system.

Owing to falling passenger numbers during the 1960s, as well as rising costs, and the need to renew life expired infrastructure and rolling stock, the Tyneside Electrics network was de-electrified and converted to diesel multiple unit operation in 1967.

It was designated a Grade II* listed building on 2 November 1978.

The station has remained in constant use since opening, with British Rail continuing to use the station's former bay platforms for services from Newcastle via Wallsend until the day before the first section of the Tyne and Wear Metro opened.

Tynemouth joined the Tyne and Wear Metro network on 11 August 1980, with the opening of the first phase of the network between Haymarket and Tynemouth via Four Lane Ends. Prior to the introduction of through services to St James via Wallsend on 14 November 1982, all trains used the present platform.
