There’s something magical about stepping through a gate like this.
As adults, we often become focused on schedules, responsibilities, and the endless list of things that need doing (I know that I have!). But nature has a way of gently inviting us to see the world differently. To slow down, explore, and become curious again.
The winding path ahead, the rustle of leaves, the hidden corners waiting to be discovered... it awakens the part of us that once climbed trees, built dens, and imagined entire worlds from a simple woodland walk.
When we reconnect with that inner child, creativity follows.
Ideas flow more freely. We notice beauty in unexpected places. We begin to see possibilities instead of limitations. Whether you’re creating art, solving problems, building a business, or simply trying to find a little more joy in everyday life, spending time outdoors can open doors that four walls often keep closed.
“Ponder the path of thy feet...”
Perhaps the path isn’t just the one beneath us, but the one that leads us back to wonder.
When was the last time you gave yourself permission to explore, play, and simply be curious?
Thank you to for giving me permission to do the above and for providing three things that rarely exist together: extraordinary history, living heritage and a sense of mystery. Thank you to the Scottish Borders too - a few shots from various walks thrown into the mix!
