Me and Ollie went to The Goyt Valley and we both bloody loved it.

I’ve been fixing the van back up recently, tweaking some stuff and smartening her up after 6 years of use and I was due near Macclesfield for some work this week so the day before I chucked some stuff in and drove us to this gorgeous area. It’s not my first time here but my first with Ollie and we explored more than Monty was able to. The whole area is so special - I drove back through Wildboarclough, past Gradbach and through the Manifold Valley. What a place to live.

More photos were taken to add to the The Collection also!

I’ve reduced my time on Instagram massively - I am now only coming on for two set slots throughout the week day and I have disallowed the app completely on a Sunday on my screen time limits and for the last two Sundays I’ve not looked at social media at all.

I had no idea how much my quick ‘check ins’ where impacting my time and my ability to reach a point of ‘what do I do now’? I have finally carved through a book that has been giving my evils from the stack of unread books in my living room and I spent a whole day tinkering with the van yesterday, reorganising the electrics so I can charge my laptop directly from the leisure battery.

And evenings are the same - where I was always getting frustrated that time was slipping away I’ve found time for yoga and breathwork and I am not in a constant state of doom.

I’ll share more about how I’m organising this soon but definitely recommend it - I feel like my creative brain is on fire with ideas that come to me in moments without the screen. And it’s making me enjoy coming on here again in turn.

Still feeling all the love for the film scans that came back this week, I loved seeing photos I took years ago - I genuinely had no idea what was going to be in the folder of scans but these delighted me 🎞️✨

You simply cannot replicate film with presets. The magic of film is it’s imperfections but also the way it is taken - when you have one shot you go through a thought process that simply doesn’t exist with digital.

It feels quite rebellious to post a single photo! I wonder if we can start a movement and get them back in the old algos?!

This shoot with Stephanie W is now on the journal and you can find out what she said about how she felt having her photo taken! 🫣🥰

Just some bits of life lately on film. I can’t describe the feeling I get when I get scans back. I often just hide a roll to find a few years later and get developed (I’ll post some of those over the weekend!).

It just feels like a roll of film is a reflection of everything life has been because it’s a collection of snapshots rather than a load of images per thing. It’s the ultimate story of life.

I am moving into my most creative self - the last quarter of the year has always been my favourite as it’s when I feel most aligned and myself. I felt called to take my camera on tonights walk and these will be making their way into The Collection ✨

Life is always better when we stand together

It’s ok if we sway, we can still have our moment like the heather that comes for a fleeting moment every year

The greatest gift I’ve been given is to be able to notice light

A weak start can turn into something strong - I’ve pulled two oracle cards this week that have told me to keep going. And that I will!

A place to start is accept the contradictions - I’m really working on that at the moment

Growth is always available if we choose it 🌲

And we can always be aware of our roots 🧡
