Give me a beach, moody skies, and a couple who aren't afraid to get their feet wet, and I am in my element.
This shoot had everything - crashing waves, a dress that caught the wind perfectly, and the kind of laughter that happens when you stop worrying about getting sand in your shoes. We chased the light, walked into the sea with a lantern, and didn't stop smiling the whole time.

There's something about the coast that strips everything back. No venue, no timeline, just the two of you and the horizon.

I never rush your portraits.

On the day, we'll find a quiet corner away from the crowd — just the two of you, a few minutes, and space to breathe. No forced poses. No long lists of shots to tick off. Just time to be together while everyone else waits for you at the party.

That's where the real photographs come from. The look between you before you're aware anyone's watching. The laugh that catches you off guard. The quiet moment when it finally sinks in that you're married.

A detail that never gets missed....for me, it's the flowers.

I love how they tell your story as a couple — the colours you choose, the season you marry in, fresh blooms or dried. They're the finishing touch to your day, especially for the bride, as it's the very last thing she picks up before she walks down the aisle. So for this post all the images are of bouquets!

Let's not forget your guests on your big day.

While you're being whisked off for portraits, this is what's happening back at the party. Champagne flowing. Stories being retold for the third time. Hats being compared, shoes being kicked off onto a stone wall, someone always mid laugh.

At Tissington Hall, cocktail hour had its own quiet magic. Guests scattered across the gardens in the sunshine, catching up before the doors to the marquee opened for dinner. Nobody posing. Nobody aware of me at all.

These are the photos that surprise couples the most when they get them back. Not the ones they planned for — the ones they didn't know were happening.

Your guests came a long way to celebrate you. I think that deserves capturing too.

This is the bit that gets me every time.

The run through, the noise, the laughter that comes out before anyone's ready for it. Confetti thrown by people who love you, captured in that split second before it settles.

It's chaotic and it's loud and it's completely unposed — which is exactly why I love it. No one's thinking about the camera. Everyone's just there, in it, celebrating you.

Some venues don't allow confetti. If yours is one of them, bubbles are a brilliant alternative. Backlit by the sun, they catch the light in a way that's just as beautiful, if not more so. (Check out the last image)

These are the photos couples come back to again and again. Not because they're polished, but because they're real.

Let's talk about your group photos.

The bit everyone dreads. Standing in a line, squinting into the sun, wondering how many more "just one more" shots there are before you can get back to your guests and your gin.

So how do I keep it moving?

You will send over a shot list in advance. Nothing complicated — just names and a few group, so on the day, people are being called forward before they've even had time to wander off.

Your photos start big and work their way down. The whole wedding party first, then immediate family, then close friends, narrowing the group each time. By the end, it's just the two of you left. And that's when your couple portraits begin, no gap, no standing around waiting.

Instructions stay simple and clear throughout. No fussing with hands or heads. Just "come on in", a quick check everyone's happy, and it's done.

Group photos should take fifteen to twenty minutes, not an hour. Long enough to get everyone you want, short enough that nobody's missing the party.

They should feel like a quick, easy part of your day. Not the bit you're dreading.

Every part of your day tells a story. The carefully chosen details, the dress and shoes waiting in the sunshine, the soft, elegant ceremony set up… all leading to the moment you’ve been dreaming of.

Then the celebrations begin! Confetti in the air, surrounded by your favourite people, your biggest cheer squad by your side. Sneaking away for those intimate portraits, just the two of you, before heading back to laughter, speeches, and unforgettable moments.

And of course… the party! Your first dance, followed by a night filled with joy, music, and memories made on the dance floor.
