People often ask whether photographing weddings changed how I planned my own.

The answer is… absolutely. 🤣

Looking back, there are so many things I’m glad we did - and a few things I now realise I needn’t have worried about quite so much.

Not because I don’t love beautiful details - I really do - I get ridiculously excited about flowers, stationery and all the little touches you’ve spent months planning.

But after photographing so many weddings, I’ve realised those things aren’t what people talk about years later.

They talk about your dad trying not to cry.

Your best friend’s speech.

The dance floor chaos.

The moment you finally looked at each other and thought, “We actually did it.”

The things that make a wedding unforgettable are almost never the things that cost the most or took the longest to plan.

They’re the moments you couldn’t have planned if you tried.

One day, you’ll miss the version of them that won’t sit still for a photo. 🥹

The belly laughs. The grubby knees. The tiny hand still reaching for yours. The ridiculous faces when you ask for a “nice smile”. The chaos that feels completely ordinary right now.

That’s the stuff I want to photograph.

No awkward posing. No perfectly behaved children required. No stressing if someone decides they’re absolutely NOT having their photo taken today 🤣

Just you. Them. Exactly as you are, right now.

Because they’ll never be this little again - and you deserve to be in the memories too. 🤍

✨WEDDING VENUE SPOTLIGHT✨

I've decided to start sharing my favourite venues to work at; that are absolutely brilliant for both me, as a photographer, and for the couples that book them. Wedding planning is hard, and unless you're dead set already on the 'where' of getting married then it can feel a very daunting process in the beginning.

This series of blog posts will hopefully give some thorough insight into options and chat through what's great about them, and what really works; giving wedding-planning couples a clear view of both information and a view of how it could look!
