LIVED: PERCEPTION

This segment mainly entailed my observation of human
emotions and body language. I wanted this part of my project to display a higher appreciation for my family and friends since experiencing grief and loss. I wanted this segment to be the most raw and meaningful, which involved taking photos of natural emotion mainly without people having to pose or knowing it was *their* photo taken.
I wanted to share my experiences through this segment, e.g being able to photograph events, seeing distant family, being able to go out with friends and be myself and share the love I have.

This is my dad. I have decided to include him as a segment in this project because I admire the battles he has
overcome in life and despite the suffering, he’s still went forward head held high for his family and for himself. I don’t think there’s anything I don’t appreciate him for. KB is a veteran, a son, a father, a brother and favoured cousin.
I am so proud to call him my dad and I’m sure others are proud to have relations to him too.

LIVED: HOUSE
I took these photos during a highly stressful and unusual time of my life, with mental health declining and exam season in the midst I had no idea what to do with myself that wasn’t studying. These simplistic photos portray a tidy, neat bedroom meanwhile the mental state of the person who lived in it was on a rapid decline. I wanted to show through my message and photos that despite everything looking simplistic and tidy on the outside, so much complication and sabotage happens on the inside. While appearing well looked-after and fine, you can be experiencing the most difficult struggle that has been laid upon you and no one would know. I wanted to highlight this through the neat layout of the photos which signify the expectations set out for you at that age. Good grades, good appearance, good personality, cleanliness, organisation, good mental state, practical, etc.

It's been a while since I have posted on this page but I am back with a homemade project I've decided to name 'Lived'.
'Lived' is something I have been creating for a while due to inspiration from home life, nature, events and human life.
I have observed nature and the people around me closely for the past 2 and a half years, I've studied emotions and wildlife and made it a part of my daily life, and I want to say thank you to those who have inspired me unknowingly for this.
I want this project to be raw, emotional and something that is memorable. There will always be a background to each photo I take, and now I want to share with you all what I have been working on in the background.
