If your website has not been reviewed in the last 12 months, it may be worth looking at it again, through a very different lens...

and I don't mean a camera lens.

Having been entrusted with so many website reviews recently, there is one thing that is quite clear.

The way websites are being found, read and understood has changed significantly.

Google is no longer the only place people start their research. AI search is now part of the discovery process, accessibility is becoming a bigger digital responsibility, and both search engines and AI systems need clearer signals to understand what a business does, where its expertise sits and why it should be trusted.

A website can still look current while the structure behind it, the content on the page and the information connected to its images are no longer doing enough work.

That is the kind of detail I am working through at the moment inside a full website audit and rewrite for a specialist engineering company with serious technical credentials behind it.

A full on review of the website as a complete communication system, looking at every page, every image and every piece of structure to see how well the business is being explained to people, search engines, assistive technology and AI systems.

That means looking at whether the website is properly surfacing the expertise, products, research, partnerships, proof and commercial value that already exist inside the business.

Reviewing the words, page titles, meta descriptions, image use, alt text, visual hierarchy, navigation, calls to action, trust signals, case-study opportunities, accessibility, search intent and the way technical information is translated for the people and machines who need to understand it.

For businesses with years of expertise, strong project history, technical knowledge, research, partnerships or specialist services, this work matters because those details are often the very things that build confidence.

They need to be clearly connected across the website so that people, search engines, assistive technology and AI systems can understand the business without having to piece everything together themselves.

That is where The Visual Business Accelerator™ comes in.

I help businesses bring the value they already have to the surface, then strengthen the content, images, structure, accessibility and search signals so the website works harder for the business behind it.

If your website was built in the last 12 months to two years and has not been reviewed or updated since, this may be the right time to look at whether it still reflects how your business needs to be found, understood and trusted today.

LinkedIn certainly doesn’t make it easy! 🤷🏻‍♀️

As somebody who teaches businesses how to get more value from their images, the frustration is killing me!

It really should be a simple three step process.

1. Take a photograph on an iPhone.

2. Give it a meaningful filename.

3. Upload it to LinkedIn.

Job done.

Except it isn’t!

I’ve spent part of today trying to find a straightforward way to upload an image to LinkedIn from an iPhone while retaining a custom filename.

I haven’t found one.

LinkedIn wants access to Photos.

The renamed image sits in Files because you can’t change the filename in photos.

Unless you use an additional app such as Lightroom, the workflow becomes surprisingly awkward.

That may not matter to everyone.

But image filenames are important, and more businesses are creating content entirely from their phones, it feels like a gap that should have been solved by now.

If I’ve missed something, I’m happy to learn.

But right now, it appears that adding a meaningful filename to an image and posting it directly to LinkedIn from an iPhone is far more difficult than it should be.

But leave it with me… I’m trying to find a solution… because it matters.

Happy Sunday. ❤️

Even a professional photographer can have a bad photo day…

A bad hair day on the very day she’s planned for updated personal pics for her website! 🤷🏻‍♀️

It doesn’t matter what I do in this hot weather, the curls just seem to get more unruly.

I hardly recognise myself!

So it will have to be plan B, until I cut them all off, or wait until the weather cools down.

But, a timely reminder, that if your website photos don’t represent your company well, it’s time to get them updated…

Both physically in terms of the pixels and strategically in terms of adding that important data.

Without both, you’ll simply get lost in the heatwave of noise that is Google and AI.

Don’t leave anything to chance… be one step ahead, because the future of your business IS my business… curly haired, or straight! 😁

I never thought I’d run again….

And although it seems like an infuriatingly, long and painful, recovery from my fall in January…

I’ve finally got my running legs back!

It’s still a little slow, especially up those hills…

But it’s positive progress.

Heading into this glorious sunny Sunday feeling exhilarated and as giddy as a kipper.

Now to get some gardening done!

Happy Sunday.

With love ❤️

My Bing search data stopped me this morning...

And... yes, I check it every single day! 🥴

But, heres what I found...

Businesses are now searching for EAA image compliance rules in their own words, not the technical ones.

They know something is required of them, but just don't know what it is called yet.

It matters because the images, PDFs, logos, case studies, downloads, and project photographs on a business website are no longer there just to show what the company does.

They are part of how that business is understood by people, search engines, AI systems, and screen readers.

For companies working with public sector clients, procurement teams, funders, investors, stakeholders, or communities, that hidden layer is becoming increasingly important as it affects accessibility, visibility, trust, and the way a website reflects the standards of the business behind it.

This is exactly where I could see things heading back in September 2024, and it is why my work with The Visual Business Accelerator™ has evolved the way it has.

It is also why I decided to share The Visual Image Checker™, that I built to make my own client website audits clearer and faster, realising that it would also help other businesses see what their website images are actually telling Google, AI systems, and screen readers.

You can find that checker on my website... but if you are also searching for answers around EAA, website images, PDFs, alt text, compliance, or visual content, this is where I would start.

Another well-known, busy, successful business put through the Visual Image Checker™ this morning.

54 images... and not a single one of them visible to Google, AI, or a screen reader!

The worst of it is... the owner had absolutely no idea.

According to the WebAIM Million Report 2026, the average website has 10.8 images with missing alt text. This one had 54. Not one exception.

Google Lens processes 25 billion visual searches every month. If your images have no alt text and no descriptive filenames, every single one of those searches passes you by.

Seriously... this isn't something that any business can ignore!

I wonder what your website looks like underneath the surface.

Run any page through the free Visual Image Checker™ and see what Google, AI, and screen readers can actually read on yours.

Why website images are becoming a governance issue.

Many businesses I work with already invest heavily in professional visual content across websites, bids, recruitment, stakeholder communications, and brand positioning.

What is often missing is the structural layer that allows those assets to contribute properly to digital visibility.

Search engines, accessibility technologies, and AI systems do not interpret images in the same way humans do.

They rely on supporting information, context, structure, accessibility standards, and machine-readable signals to understand what an image represents and why it matters.

This gives visual content a wider role than brand presentation alone.

It supports discoverability.
Accessibility compliance.
Search visibility.
AI interpretation.
Content governance.
And how organisations are understood digitally.

An image that is properly structured becomes part of the organisation’s digital infrastructure.

Businesses that address this now will be significantly better positioned as AI-driven search and accessibility standards continue to reshape digital visibility.

The Visual Business Accelerator™ was founded to help companies review, structure, and optimise the visual assets already sitting inside their websites.

The work is designed to future-proof how businesses are seen, understood, and trusted online.

Be twenty steps ahead… and get in touch for more information.

I’ve Been In Survival Mode For Years!

Some would say 18 years is too many.

I’d say they have been the best years for rebuilding and getting to know myself from a soul level, as difficult as it was. 😳

But it’s made me who I am today; and I’m finally proud of the face that smiles back at me every time I look in the mirror.

Resilience, determination, courage, truthfulness, love and kindness have been my best friends.

Latterly, taking on a role where, in the first time for 33 years I’m on a salary!

A full time, part time role, which has given me the space to breathe financially; the relief of not having to chase the next freelance project, a welcomed opportunity.

Not least that I absolutely love the role that I’ve been trusted with, being a part of a world wide team, I’d say, has been critical to the journey of completion, where I’ve come full circle.

For the next season of my life, AI is playing an intrinsic part of the journey ahead, and I’m already considered the ‘AI analyst’ for when it comes to bids and business applications.

Not only has immersing myself in AI helped me to create The Visual Business Accelerator™️, but it’s also helping other businesses achieve more by being seen where it matters.

This is the work that matters to me today.

If you’re not sure of who I am, what I do, and how I help businesses, then take a look at my website.

And when you’re ready to create visual SEO on your website, you know where I am.

To inspire others, feel free to share my post and follow for many more updates.

I’m honest, raw and share for the reality of life, positively.

With love ❤️
