The last month has been crazy, between being in Switzerland and making lemurs and everything else.

Here's a lovely peaceful golden woodland morning from a few years ago, this is a double exposure done in camera in a lovely autumnal morning.

Happy World Lemur Day

Lemurs have ways had a very spdcial place in my heart with thanks to Gerald Durrell and I've been lucky enough to see some of these incredible animals in the wild in Madagascar.

One day I would love to return and spend more time in Madagascar, exploring and learning about the community conservation efforts.

One from the archives, I'm really missing my photography at the moment. Fingers crossed i will be back next year.

For now, I have plenty from the hard drives to ahare 🤭

I will also be getting back to writing in the new year as well, all tied up eith Christmas Market prep now.

I've never really understood the need to only photograph perfect specimens of fungi (unless for scientific or ID purposes).

Over the years I've seen so many people pass over those that have "gone over" as they're not perfect. I actually find these so called perfect ones quite boring photographically and am draw to those that have moved onto the next stage as it were.

It's all part of the process and nature, like these spore covered honey fungus, at this point I find them totally mesmerising and beautiful with all the textures.

Sadly there will be not fungi photography for me this autumn due to a blip from my spinal surgery 9 weeks ago.

I'm back to resting and taking it easy, so minimal driving and definitely not crawling or sitting photographing fungi 😆

However, that doesn't mean no fungi, instead I'm going to create a drawing of this gorgeous spore covered honey fungus from last year.

I fell in love with this clump at the time and still love it now. I won't be doinf a like for like drawing, I will actually be working from a series of photographs.

This will be great for the project as I start to write about fungi and lichens.

To be honest, given the incoming storms, my warm, dry studio with a mug of tea seems a much better option 😅

I'm not yet up to photography but hoping I can get a little bit of autumn photography in later this month, so for now, I'm sorting the hard drives.
