One of the most exciting messages I received this year was from Jenny of Silvan telling me she has been chosen as a Royal Institute of British Architects Grand Designs House of the Year Judge!

I was immediately bursting with pride and excitement for her because not only is Jenny an incredibly knowledgeable architect and lecturer, she also cares greatly about the impact of her work on the Earth. Her work is focused on the intersection of sustainability and design and has built a business with her values at its core.

We first worked together a few years ago on a Brand Story Experience to create a whole suite of images and videos for her website.

Then over the summer, after getting her amazing news, Jenny decided it was time for some new portraits so she could send RIBA an updated one for their website - swipe to the end to see which she chose.

We mooched around a local green space in the late afternoon, talking about the importance of making new portraits as we change physically, mentally and spiritually and how she firmly believes the previous personal brand visuals we made, made her stand out to the judge selectors.

Photographing artists at work is one of my favourite things to do.

I’m always in awe of their unique processes, and our conversations weave through intricate subjects that I’m always grateful to have explored.

These images for Ash Saman at In Bristol Studio are not only for Ash to use to promote his work, but also to solidify his practice as an artist. These documentary-led images are an acknowledgment of how far he’s come and a launch pad for where he’ll go next.

I feel like each month this year has been its own little whirlwind of creative joy and weird hard things.

But we move, we learn, we grow and Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year, and this one in particular shall be home to some really special things 🍁

This morning I hosted my an online workshop about reconnecting with your Personal Brand and the feedback has shown me how important it is to provide support and accountability to check in on what really matters to us.

This part about what visuals resonate with us was particularly insightful for the participants and you can see what I’m talking about in the replay (for those of you who signed up but couldn’t make it live).

I really had no number in mind of how many people might sign up to this workshop, but I definitely didn’t imagine 54!

It just shows how many of us purpose-led founders need support in reconnecting with our values so we can speak loudly and proudly about what’s important to us.

There still time to sign up for this free, live, online workshop tomorrow at 10am. Bring notebook or big piece of paper and colourful pens. You’ll be journaling and drawing in response to some insightful questions about what makes you, you.
