Sorry but how is it June?

May went by in a flash because I was ill for half the month, and pretty darn busy for the other half!

This is where I’ve been for much of the last 2 weeks.

I was unfortunate enough to experience a (suspected) ruptured ovarian cyst and it’s been a terrible time tbh. All of a sudden I had to cancel fun days out, postpone meetings and rely on codeine.

I’m so glad to be on the other side and have been joyfully back at my desk over the last few days, slowly emerging back into the world and trusting my body again.

Alongside learning a lot about my insides (and how issues like this are treated in A&E 🫠), it’s been a big ol’ lesson in patience and self-compassion.

Not to be too LinkedIn, but I do actually have some business learnings which I’ll pop in a newsletter next week 😎

On Sunday I’m hosting my next Mindful Photowalk in Bath, and I’m incredibly pleased I’m back to my usual self in time! There’s still a couple of tickets if you’d like to join - tickets are on my website 🧡

Here’s your permission slip to not have to smile in all of your Personal Brand Photos.

We’re socialised as children to think that if we’re not smiling, we’re being intimidating, rude, or have a resting bitch face.

Nope.

We’re just being us. Fully and completely ourselves in that moment. No performance, no masking.

Of course, smiley, relaxed portraits are on our shot list too, but I’ll always encourage some thoughtful portraits like this.

They’re useful to share alongside a more meaningful or values-based post or blog, and also for you to know yourself better. It’s unusual to have images of ourselves that look like this, so what better way to take the chance to make it happen.

This beautiful family photography session was all about finding joy in the little moments of every day life 🧡

We spent a gentle morning at home, playing games, reading books and eating home-made bagels, creating these documentary images along the way.

Not to be dramatic but Q1 may have been my favourite start to a year yet.

Not because I was happy all the time and things were easy, but because:

The projects I’ve booked have been completely aligned.

My work was varied and exciting and I made awesome connections 🎉

I made moves to stay true to myself values like cancelling Spotify and continue to donate to Gaza Soup Kitchen.

I’ve created art that I’m super proud of and my clients immediately benefited from.

I’ve had one of my highest sales months.

I’ve listened to my body, started working with a PT and found balance with nourishing rest days.

I’ve invested in professional photography of me doing my thing twice! Thank you and 😍

My social content has gone through the roof because it’s been bold and radically authentic.

And last but not least, I just feel really confident about what I’m doing and where I’m going 💪🏽

✨ Q2 ✨

I have one space in May to create impactful Personal Brand Photography with a Founder, Creative or Organisation who’s excited dive into their next era of business.

June is currently wide open and July has 2 spaces available.
