Richard Taylor Photography, Folkestone - Caen A page to promote the business and survival of Richard Taylor...for business not for pleasure: ple You will treat it with respect.

In terms of how the public relate to professional photography, Kent and in particular Folkestone is probably THE single most ignorant place on the planet. Coo over the photos as much as you please but this page is here as part of my business. Second generation of photography, and lucky to have connections to my heroes....Specialising in medium and large format film and loving the greats of the 20th century...photography with heritage.

I know that when you elected the watermelons you thought you were doing the right thing because it was voting against that nasty Monk. parkin

But looking back, come on.....surely you have to be thinking "Why the f*ck didn't I look at the beast I was voting for" it was obvious what they were folks, come on!

You didn't though did you. So you now are partly responsible for the s**t this town is in. Sorry but that is the case as it will be with this Makerfield bo****ks. People last.

For Folekstone though, you might as well build a fence around the town and put KEEP OUT signs up. We are not a friendly welcoming place right now. Adding to the woes of independent businesses (yes, we talk, times are s**te)

Yeah the so called parking strategy was introduced (illiegally) by blue rosette man D***rdon who signed the contracts then under pressure from two consul;tations of 96% of that, set up a £20k public consutltation knowing that...I'll quote him here I was on duty that night you see: " No point in this, it's a done deal"

96% ironically being about the same statistic of those who hate this idiotic, unthinking town cetnre development...the unheard, I suggest that the same will happen with KCC proposals for Shornecliffe Road (wait untikl you read that one! Whoever though it up clearly has never been here AGAIN!!!!) but contracts are up for grabs before consultation, which will be ignored anyway, the decision having already been made. I have to say allegedly here ;-)

Anyway, the 2012 Parking "Strategy" thing there is the clue for any investigators out there....but if that were official enquierly then it would mean the undoing of all the on street parking permit zones, a reduction in car park charges sackings and potentially a criminal scandal that would shake this authority to the groud. I do not jest.

Thing is....right no it's what's needed, more so since I'm told the on street permits are to be extended to the rest of the public roads, almost up the the boundaries of Sandgate etc.

Well, that folks is another final nail in this town's coffin. Impossible to visit on anybodies terms except those of the morons who are doing these things. Again.

No visitors = heavy impact on trade.
No trade = reduction in employment atop that being caused by this idiot chancellor and her mates.

So, if anyone is thinking about standing as Reform or Tory or anything but watermelons and their moronic party political line.

Stand on the promise to undo the harm that is done. To reduce the cost of keeping my car stationary to less than it costs to keeo ut moving.

To make parking accessible to tourists and residents....it IS possible, just kill off the on street permits and there is room enough for all as there used to be.

Do that and I shall turn out and vote for you. I'll take the risk next time that you won't be like those of the past, that you will havre some savvy and will see what is going on and hear people more than just on election day.

That's my promise, I stick to mine, unlike what's got power at present

Street photography....for me can get blown up out of all proportion, usually by those that...

In the street, hide behind a 200mm lens.

I say that as a "street photographer" YOU are part on the photograph. It's up close, it's personal, maybe to a point that you make a photograph more than you realise?

You see, you, as a photographer are part of the equation, it requires engagement....and that is fun mostly but there are risks...so communication is everything!

Get in close, use your personality.....don't hde, as I have seen, behind a 210mm lens and a dslr that disguises you. No, that voyeurism. No fun, no courage...ENGAGE, have fun, it's rare that people won't work with you, again, that's down to you.. More so in the phone age!

More later, this photo made, by chance, on 35mm Fujifilm 400 using a Ricoh R1 ;)

I really enjoyed the chance to shoot a few rolls this week and thought it would be a good opportunity to try some film/dev combinations I've not tried previously....

So here's a roll of Tmax100 that was kicking about at home in Ornano Nucleol BF200 (I usually use Gradual ST20) by way of a bit of "street" photography.

Shot on the hoof using Pentax MX on the nifty little 40mm pancake lens, I'm chuffed with results but you can draw your own
conclusions!

Let me know if you like any of these, help my confidence!

You see, Portra 400 is always and always will be a best selling colour film and we can see why. Hasn't it done so well in low light with these!

Here's some shots inside St Pauls made on Pentax MX with 40mm Pancake and 17mm Fisheye.

Yes, Bellini Foto C41 and Jpg Noritsu scans as per our upgrade option

My first time combining ILFORD FP4+ with Ornano Nucleol BF200 and I am really quite taken aback....but then that happens a lot when using this superb developer!

A film that had been sat in camera for near two years, I was determined to finish it this week! 😃

I lose confidence so do tell me if there's any you like here....I don't get out much you see!

Oh, by the way....a 35mm compact camera Nikon 28Ti 😉

We've got more toxicity than that nasty Monk to get rid of now have we not?

My bet is that the Green fluffies who haven't studied their own party's lunatic fantasy policies will be gone completely, it just can't happen soon enough

Lovely to see this great new British product released today and we're the first to offer it!

Pan F has something of a cult status amongst professional photographer so I'm a bit surprised it's taken this many decades to release it in sheet formats which trust me, will be bloody amazing!

It's already flying out but one day...I hope to shoot some in my gorgeous near unused Tachihara there ;-)

ps detail on this combo will exceed 90 t0 130 megapixels with ease, drum scanned on our Howtek definition will loo nigh on miicroscopic.

And that folks is one of the many reasons you just cannot beat large format photography.
