Why is it that as soon as one thing is over, we’re straight onto the next?

Sometimes it’s not even over yet and we’re already thinking about what’s coming next! Before the summer holidays had even begun, I was seeing BACK TO SCHOOL everywhere. And now, with the kids heading back in the next week, the shops are already full of Christmas.

Can we just slow down a minute?!

So, although I am currently planning my Christmas Mini Sessions for this year (because apparently as a small business, I have to think ahead too ), I’m also taking a little moment to pause and reflect on what has been such an amazing summer. A summer full of sunshine, adventures, ice creams and so many lovely memories being made.

So if you’re thinking about getting on my Christmas Mini waitlist but you’re still very much holding onto that little bit of summer, I promise I won’t bombard you with Christmas just yet!

For any pregnant followers. This is going to be a lovely workshop ran by these 4 amazing women. Only a few spaces left!

Let me introduce you to the faces behind the Antenatal Wellness Workshop.

Top left is Cara from who will be bringing breathwork and introducing hypernobirthing.

Top Right is Gill from who is a 'Gill of all trades'- there isn't much this lady doesnt know about all things antenatal and postnatal. She will be bringing the pregnancy yoga, labour tools, and baby massage techniques.

Bottom left is Katie from .s.wellbeing who will be bringing all our nutrition goodness. She will be discussing pregnancy care and post partum nutrition, as well as teaching you to make yummy Bliss Balls.

Bottom right is me, Karina. I will be bringing the mental health care. Looking at anxieties that can crop up during pregnancy and how we can feel post partum, including how to spot PND and other mental health struggles.

Wow! We are bringing a lot of knowledge and support for the lucky pregnant ladies who book our workshop.

Your baby doesn’t have to fall straight into a deep sleep when you arrive at my studio.

In fact, it’s really common for newborn babies to take a little while to settle before we can start capturing those gorgeous, sleepy newborn poses.

They might be cluster feeding, having an unexpected awake spell, needing lots of cuddles… or perhaps they have a little bit of trapped wind that needs sorting first.

And that’s completely okay.

There is no rush.

I allow up to 3 hours for your photoshoot because I want us to have the time to work around your baby rather than rushing them through a set of poses.

We can stop for feeds, cuddles, settling and nappy changes whenever your little one needs them.

My aim is to create a calm, relaxed environment where your baby sets the pace and we can capture those beautiful tiny details along the way.

Because sometimes the best photographs happen when we simply slow down and let your baby be a baby.

This little dude was just over 2 weeks new when he visited me last weekend. His eye contact with the camera was amazing and he seemed older than his weeks. A very cute little bundle of joy.

How are we here already?

Tomorrow my middle child turns 10.

And the day after, my eldest comes home from Spain after his first big trip away with his best friend and his family.

Two big milestones, all happening within 48 hours.

My phone has been full of memories this week. Photos of my daughter as a tiny baby, her first birthdays, her first day of school... all those little moments that felt so significant at the time, but somehow seem like they happened five minutes ago.

I've found myself looking through them and noticing all the little things that have stayed the same. The expressions. The mannerisms. The little quirks that are still so her.

And it has made me think about how quickly our children grow.

Tomorrow we'll celebrate 10 years of her, and the day after that we'll be welcoming her big brother home and hearing all about his adventures.

I'm feeling all the emotions this week. Proud, grateful, excited... and perhaps a little bit emotional about just how quickly these years are passing.

It's why I love what I do so much.

Because photographs give us a way to hold onto these moments. Not just the big milestones, but the little details too, the things you might otherwise forget.

And if you have a little one starting school this September, I know you're probably feeling all of those emotions too.
