Demystify the settings of your digital DSLR or mirrorless camera on this one-day intensive outdoor workshop with the support of photographer and experienced educator Alicia Bruce .

Start the day with a delicious hot drink courtesy of The Little Green Van.☕️🫖
Over the course of the day you will learn how to get better quality photographs and move away from the automatic settings.
We will cover:
Exposure
Shutter Speed
Aperture
ISO
Focal Length
Composition
Context

Katy came to one of our first portrait workshops at Tribe Porty in 2019 and was a total joy to work with.
Later this year she’s exhibiting a stunning portrait at National Galleries of Scotland as part of Scottish Portrait & Landscape Awards

Art Walk Portrait Workshop with Portobello Photography School is back.

📍Location: Starting from the Green Van, Portobello Promenade

10.30am-3.30pm

A supported day making photographic portraits of Art Walk Weekend’s exhibiting artists in their homes and studios with technical and creative support of professional photographer and experienced educator Alicia Bruce
Over the course of the day you will learn how to get better quality photographic portraits, appreciate the quality of available light and make meaningful portraits of local artists.
We will cover:
Composition,
symbolism,
positioning,
technical considerations,
engaging and guiding the sitter.

Beginners, amateurs, professionals and anyone curious about making better pictures is welcome.

This is a unique chance to meet and photograph some of the artists participating in Art Walk Weekend’s programme.

Visitor & Marketing Coordinator
Type of contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2027, with possibility of extension.
Salary: £26,229 per annum
Full-time: 5 days per week (Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm)
Start date: Immediate
Location: Working from our premises: 23 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1BP

The Visitor & Marketing Co-ordinator will bring a strong blend of marketing insight and customer-focused service, with the ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically to diverse local, national, and international audiences. They will thrive in a public-facing environment, confidently balancing competing priorities while contributing to the promotion of our vision and the smooth day-to-day delivery to ensure the best possible visitor experience.
