TWIT TWOO THAT'S ME!! Courtesy of my lovely pal Lisa Bryson Lisa Bryson! I asked her to do these ages ago just because I had a sense she would 'get me' and she did!

Like most photographers I don't like being in front of the camera but I needed to update my pics for new business ventures and so I bit the bullet when she came to stay in porty last week. I also got a lovely catch up well overdue

I have been taking photos of myself for a while, but mainly to desensitise and accept my transforming body during thon menopause and aging. They can be hard to look at and also weirdly cathartic. So these are a nice change for me, colourful and flattering if I do say so myself!

I recently had a chap come up to me when I was out having fun who asked me my age, I told him 52 as I was at the time, he just said aye, you look it... I was quite taken back, why ask and why want to burst my bubble and also who said I didn't want to look it? It peed me off a bit in honesty, it felt like he wanted to burst my fun bubble and put me in my place. I mean how dare an older woman want to go out and party?

These photos have made me happy, f**k it.. I'm proud to be my age and I'm owning it!

Anyhoo.. having your photo taken can be a deeply personal thing, so as a photographer I am aware of the trust and the privilege it is to take your pics.

Pride Edinburgh on Saturday was amazing as always.. 35,000 strong. I usually go and don't always post my pics but it feels more important than ever at the moment.

The signage is my favourite! It changes slightly every year depending on the political social environment.

Not gonna get heavy, just gonna reflect on a glorious day.

My pics in the Herald today! For the amazing young person's brass band group Brass Blast run by Oi Musica! It's been an absolute pleasure to see these young people blossom and see them find their place in the world over the years.. whilst learning and playing amazing music!

Come to the festival.. it's always a damn fine knees up!

Ola peeps, how's this spankingish new year working out for ya?

It has been pretty busy here but I am experiencing a wee ebb to the flow so I thought I would muster the courage to pop my latest blog here before it falls by the wayside. It's a bit of a ramble about loss, of which I sadly experienced too much of last year. It is eloquently called

'I lost a tooth the other day (plus a tale of two s**ts)'

It also has a bit about how I used Therapeutic Photography to help me through it.

I start a new course this week bringing me closer to my goal of becoming a practitioner of it, so I can really start to bore the s**t out of you all with further examples of it!

Anyway, the selection of photos here are from the last few months taken as I try and process my own grief and loss. I don’t always do something with the pics but I do look back and they can remind me of a moment or a thought I had at the time. I really suggest that you give it a shot if you think you would benefit and get out there with your phone or camera and try it. You might be surprised at how much you can see and how it makes you feel.
