e with Edinburgh many years ago. I moved here in 2003 and today I live in Leith with my family. When I’m not with a client, you’ll usually find me at my desk at Tribe Porty, by the sea in Portobello or out walking our dog Finn. And when I have a rare weekend off, you’ll find me outdoors – heading for the beach or the hills in our camper van. I pride myself on the relationships I’ve built with my clients, and on the fact that so many come back to me again and again.

Hannah and Frankie’s timeless Edinburgh city wedding was filled with love, laughter and a little Scottish magic

Historic buildings, cobbled streets and elegant details marked the beginning of their next chapter together, and Edinburgh couldn’t have provided a more beautiful backdrop.

The day began at the iconic Scotsman Hotel, where a wonderfully big family gathered to celebrate in style. Cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and everywhere in between, it was a true family affair, with hugs, chatter and laughter filling every corner.

From there, we wandered up the Royal Mile, soaking in the city’s charm between more hugs, a few happy tears and plenty of laughs (the kind that leave your cheeks aching).

A day full of tradition, romance and unforgettable city moments that were made even more special by the people who mattered most.

So much joy, so many smiles, and so much laughter shared with the people they love most in the world.

So lovely to spend an afternoon photographing Charlotte Connolly for her new website.

Charlotte is a coach, consultant and facilitator who helps people and teams work better together, and we wanted her new photos to feel just like she does: warm, grounded and full of personality.

We captured the photos in her bright, light-filled home office for a mix of working shots and relaxed portraits. Lots of natural light, easy conversation and Charlotte being herself ✨

The new images are now live on her site, helping future clients get a real sense of who she is before they even meet.

Edinburgh really does have the best of all worlds, it mixes historic, cinematic beauty with that relaxed, lived-in charm.
One minute you can be wandering through atmospheric old closes, the next you’re strolling along wide Georgian streets, heading up into the hills or making your way down to the beach.

That’s what makes it such a brilliant place. You can choose somewhere that actually feels like you as a couple, rather than simply picking a location because it looks good in photographs.

The best images happen when you feel comfortable, relaxed and completely yourselves, and Edinburgh gives you so many ways to make that happen.

A little adventure, a beautiful backdrop and plenty of space to just be together ✨

Adam and Elizabeth were married in Elizabeth’s hometown in New Zealand, and they wanted to celebrate their marriage with an intimate afternoon in their much-loved adopted home city 🤍

We started with a drink at Browns of Leith, where we bumped into their wedding ring designer, Gina Burgess, who very kindly took us upstairs to the wonderfully derelict space above the bar - beautiful light, amazing textures and one very excited photographer!

From there, we headed out to The Shore and did some shots on the iconic blue bridge then headed to Stockbridge, having a wander up Circus Lane, along the Water of Leith and, stopping off for some excellent ice-cream at Joelato 🍦

There is something really special about photographing families in the place they love most - their own home.

This recent family photography session in East Lothian was the perfect reminder that meaningful photographs don’t need grand locations or elaborate setups. Sometimes, all you need is the people you love most.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this lovely family many times over the years, so from the moment I arrived, everything felt relaxed and familiar. The children couldn’t wait to show me their favourite corners of their beautiful garden, and we spent the session simply enjoying time together, capturing the little moments that make family life so special.

Some wedding days are packed with timelines. Others, like this one, are simple, relaxed, and full of fun ✨

Richard & Fifi celebrated 10 years together with an intimate ceremony, joined by their closest friends. A day filled with romance, laughter, and so much personality.

The morning began slow and easy, fizz, music, and excitement in the Sir Richard suite at the Virgin Hotel. After a beautiful first look, we wandered through Edinburgh together, from colourful streets to historic corners, soaking it all in on the way to their ceremony.

Inside, everything softened. Quiet, heartfelt, and full of meaning. And the back out into the city for some more pics.

We ended the day right where it started, relaxed, joyful, and completely true to them.

Elopements like this are so much fun. No pressure, no performance, just celebrating your story, your way.

A rainy start turned into sunshine as we wandered through the storybook charm of Dean Village and along the Water of Leith with the lovely McClure family who were visiting from the US. 💛

Cobblestone streets, riverside reflections, and a little bit of Scottish weather magic. So special to capture these moments while families explore a new corner of the world together 🌍📸
