This isn’t just a couple of hours with a camera. 🤎

One of the things I hear most often from clients afterwards is:

“That was so much easier than I thought it would be.”

And honestly, that’s exactly how I want it to feel.

Your experience starts before we even meet.

You’ll receive your welcome guide with my style guide and information about your product options, then we’ll have a design consultation call where we can chat through your horse, your location, what you’d like to wear and the kind of photographs you’re drawn to.

Then comes the fun bit.

Your 2-hour portrait session is relaxed and completely tailored to you and your horse.

Afterwards, we’ll meet again for your private in-person viewing, where we’ll look through your photographs together and choose your favourites.

And you’ll already have a gorgeous big framed print included in your experience.

If you fall completely in love with your images, you’ll also have the option to add extra albums, frames, digitals and other artwork.

It’s all designed so that you don’t have to figure everything out by yourself.

I’ll guide you through it.

One client described the whole experience as “first class”, from the welcome pack and pre-shoot planning right through to the photographs at the end.

Another told me that I “held their hands through every step” and that the shoot was relaxed enough that even their three-year-olds loved it.

That’s exactly what I want.

You don’t need to be a model.

Your horse doesn’t need to be perfect.

And you don’t need to know what you’re doing.

You just need to turn up and enjoy them. 🤎

The Burghley Portrait Event is currently open, with the full Portrait Experience available for £495 instead of £695 until Friday 11th September.

To enquire, complete the enquiry form on my website or email [email protected].

Chrissy will then give you a call to chat everything through and get you booked in.

“I absolutely adore photos but not of myself!”

This is one of my favourite things clients tell me before a shoot.

And honestly, I completely get it.

One of my clients came to me feeling exactly the same. She’d seen my work and loved the feelings I capture, but wasn’t convinced she’d actually like photographs of herself.

She decided to take the chance anyway.

And afterwards?

Picture after picture that she adored — and apparently quite a lot of happy tears. 🤎

She told me that the photographs weren’t just beautiful, but that they genuinely told a story.

But the bit that really stuck with me was what she said about the experience itself.

She described it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something she would put on a par with her wedding day.

She even walked with her pony in heels. 😂

And her daughter got involved too, making it a proper family memory rather than simply a couple of hours in front of a camera.

Her final advice?

“Do it! You won’t regret it!”

And I think that’s something I hear in different ways again and again.

People worry they won’t look good.

They worry their horse won’t behave.

They worry they’ll feel awkward.

And then they realise that the photographs aren’t really about posing perfectly.

They’re about spending time with the horse you love, in a beautiful place, and creating something that tells the story of the two of you.

So if you’ve been wondering whether you should do it...

Take it from someone who nearly talked herself out of it.

You might be very glad you didn’t. 🤎

I’m going to say it... autumn is the best season for horse & dog portraits. 🍂

I’m sorry to summer, but I stand by it.

The colours are ridiculous.

Golden leaves, warm evening light, fields turning every shade of green and brown... it’s basically nature doing half of my job for me.

And then there’s the wardrobe.

Knitted jumpers. Jeans. Boots. Cosy layers.

My absolute favourite. 😂

But I think what I love most is that feeling you get when the seasons change.

The mornings become crisp, the evenings start drawing in and everything feels just a little slower.

We’re incredibly lucky in this country to experience such distinct seasons, and autumn gives us one of the most beautiful backdrops for photographs with our horses.

So if you’ve been thinking about creating some portraits this year, this is a rather lovely time to do it.

And if you’d like to take advantage of my Burghley Portrait Event, the full Portrait Experience is currently £495 instead of £695.

The offer is open until Friday 11th September.

Simply send your enquiry through my website or email [email protected] and Chrissy will give you a call to chat everything through and get you booked in.

Something special is coming… 🤎

If you've been quietly thinking about creating beautiful portraits with your horse or dog…

This might be the moment to stop waiting.

I'm putting together something very special for the autumn and winter months — and I'll be sharing all the details very soon.

So if a portrait session has been sitting somewhere on your one day list, keep an eye on your inbox.

Why autumn is magical 🍂

I feel slightly sorry to say it, but the most magical season of the year is slowly approaching.

Autumn is my favourite season to photograph in — and also my busiest.

The colours are just incredible. The golden leaves, the soft light, misty mornings and those beautiful warm tones that make everything feel a little bit more special.

And then there's the wardrobe… knitted jumpers, jeans, boots, cosy layers. Honestly, I think I was made for autumn dressing. 😂

But more than anything, I love that we're lucky enough to experience four completely different seasons here in the UK.

Each one brings something different to our time with our horses, and there's something particularly lovely about those crisp autumn days — when you can head out in your favourite jumper, spend a couple of hours with your horse and come home with muddy boots and a very happy heart.

And of course, it makes for some pretty beautiful photographs too. 🤎

So, who's ready for autumn? 🍂

So, what happens to your images after your session? 🤍

One of my favourite parts of what I do actually happens after we've finished taking the photographs.

At your private viewing appointment, we sit down together and look through your images. And this is where we start creating the artwork collection that's right for you.

And that looks different for everyone.

Some of my clients simply can't choose and decide they want all of their digital images too — and that's absolutely fine.

But there are usually a few favourites that they fall completely in love with and want to see every single day.

For some, that's a beautiful collection of framed portraits on the wall.

For others, it's a gorgeous leather album filled with the story of their horse.

And sometimes it's both.

There isn't a right or wrong way to do it.

You choose what will bring you the most joy — and I'll help you get there.

I'll guide you through the options, help you work out what will suit your home and your images, and make sure you're investing in artwork you'll genuinely love living with.

These aren't just photographs. They're the images your children will grow up seeing on the walls. The album you might pull out years from now and page through. The portrait you'll walk past every morning and still smile at.

They're little pieces of your story, made tangible.

That's exactly where I believe your photographs belong. 🤍

I was looking back through some of my recent shoots and came across this image from Elsie's session with her gorgeous pony, Frankie.

And it reminded me of one of my favourite things about photographing children and their ponies...

The little details that make their relationship theirs.

Elsie really wanted a photograph with Frankie and her chicken, Goujon. 🐔

And obviously, when your chicken is called Goujon, they deserve a place in the family portrait. 😂

This is exactly why I love photographing your world as it really is.

It's not about creating a perfectly polished version of your life. It's about capturing the people, animals, quirks and little moments that make it yours.

Years from now, I'm sure Elsie will love having beautiful photographs of Frankie... but I suspect she'll be even more delighted that Goujon made it into the story too.

Portrait sessions are all about your pony, your childhood, your memories — and all the wonderfully random little details that came with it. 🤎

So, what actually happens during a portrait session? 🤍

It’s probably not quite what you’re imagining when you hear the word photoshoot.

There are no catwalks, forced poses or flashing lights.

My sessions are incredibly relaxed.

Yes, we’ll choose beautiful locations with gorgeous light. We’ll talk through what to wear, where we’ll go and how to make the most of your surroundings.

But once we’re there?

I really just want you to enjoy your horse.

I’ll guide you when I need to, look for the beautiful light and quietly capture everything happening between you. The best photographs usually aren’t created by asking you to pose... They’re created when you forget I’m there.

And honestly, that’s one of my favourite things about a portrait session.

Yes, you’ll come away with beautiful photographs and artwork for your home.

But you’ll also have spent a couple of lovely hours simply being with your horse — making memories together without the pressure of having to perform for the camera.

The photographs are wonderful. The experience of creating them is the bit you’ll remember. 🤍
