This view towards Ingleborough near Ribblehead is a good reminder of what makes the Dales so special to me.
I’m currently relocating to London, and I know I’m going to miss the Yorkshire Dales a lot. So many great memories here... I’ll definitely be back.

Evening light on Rombalds Moor.
I love the numerous rocks and boulders of all shapes scattered across the moor. In summer, with the heather in bloom and warm evening light touching the stones, this place can feel really special.

I spent some time in Spain this summer, and the birding there was simply amazing.
From the striking Western Swamphen and European Roller to Great Reed Warblers calling from the reeds, Serins and Sardinian Warblers, there seemed to be something interesting everywhere I looked.
A few favourites from those warm summer days in Spain. Definitely a place I’d love to return to with the camera.

Summer sunrise at the Quiraing.
The first light slowly touched the hills and brought the whole landscape to life. Standing there with this lone tree in the foreground felt like one of those quiet moments that makes an early start completely worth it.

Tawny Owl
I often hear them calling from my window at night, but I couldn’t photograph one until I spent some time in a local hide. Seeing this beautiful owl up close for the first time was a special moment, and it was well worth the wait.

Warnscale Bothy is one of the best summer sunset locations in the Lake District for me.
I love the way the old stone bothy sits above the valley, with the last light reaching the lake in the distance. It takes a bit of effort to get here, but views like this make it feel completely worth it.

A quiet and beautiful moment near the famous tree in Chapel-le-Dale.

What I really like here is the natural geometry of the scene. The lines in the limestone pavement gently lead the eye towards the tree, and its shape is amazing, almost like a natural sculpture against the evening sky.

I’ll never forget my first encounter with Long-eared Owls in the wild.
I hoped to see just one, but somehow I was lucky enough to find three owlets and their mother hidden in the trees.
I was lucky enough to find three owlets and their mother hidden deep in the trees.
One of the owlets was younger, much fluffier, noisier, and incredibly photogenic.

Golden light over Chapel-le-Dale.
A simple scene, but full of texture, direction, and quiet Yorkshire Dales atmosphere.
I experimented with the leading lines through the frame, connecting the rocks, the sky, and the lone tree.

Sunset over Loch Falda - soft summer light, still reflections, and the Old Man of Storr watching from a distance.
A peaceful scene in the photo… but in reality, the midges were absolutely furious. Still worth every bite.
