Photographing each sports comes with its own challenges and requires different approaches. Football is high paced and getting the images out fully edited and captioned is a hard skill to learn and take time and practice.
Rugby is the same but part of the challenge there is the players don have numbers on the front of their kit making captioning even more of a challenge.
Cricket is a lot less challenging in terms of captioning the images but the challenges here light with the distance you are from the action, even when you are sitting on the boundary, Battery and file management come into play here.
Boxing is one of my favourite sports to capture and probably one of the most difficult in terms of technical ability, often poor lighting restricting the speed of your shutter and balancing the exposure triangle (Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO).
Athletics is another one of my favourite sports - mainly because it was one that I enjoyed competing in as a younger man, the same applies to Judo but Ive not not may Judo tournaments yet ... something that is firmly on my radar for next year.
All of this is what make this genre of photography my personal favourite. despite the hard work and long days I still get a buzz sitting in a prime location close to the action.
