I love a September ‘new year’ reset and getting back into a routine after the summer.

Now I just need the teenagers to actually go back to school 😅

I’ve got a lovely personal branding shoot today.

These sessions are particularly good for coaches, entrepreneurs, facilitators and consultants - basically anyone where YOU are a big part of the business.

I’ve done quite a few this year and I really love them. Not just because I get to take lovely photos, but because you come away with a whole bank of images you can actually use across your website, social media, LinkedIn, newsletters and all the other places you somehow need a photo of yourself.

Much more useful than one very nice headshot that then gets used everywhere for the next three years. 😂

I’m looking to connect with more people to help me out on shoots 🙌

It will firstly be for a job in August and one in September but hopefully also going forward as and when needed.

It will mainly include gear support and light bounce on set as well as capturing some behind the scenes content when possible.

It would be a great opportunity for someone new to the industry to gain experience as long as they have basic understanding of photography 🙌

Pay will be dependent on experience.

I first met Beth when she booked me for a newborn session for Beti four years ago, and somehow she’s gone from client to one of my favourite work besties. 🤩

Being self-employed can be brilliant, but it can also be lonely sometimes. That’s why it’s incredibly important to surround yourself with people who make you laugh, believe in you (even when you don’t), cheer you on, and are always up for a good bitch and moan and putting the world to rights over coffee or Wagamama’s 🤪

I had the absolute joy of creating the launch imagery for , a midlife coach doing such important, heart-led work.

When you’re a service provider, showing the face behind the craft changes everything- even when it’s scary.

We spent our session capturing warm, candid storytelling assets that reflect Gemma’s genuine energy and presence. No stuffy corporate poses here, just real, beautiful moments in the cosy space she sees her clients.

I’m still learning. Still taking my new camera with me to most places.

A couple of weeks ago I brought it with me on my Saturday morning dog walk around Rhiwbina village.

So I guess, this is a little postcard from a sunny Saturday morning in the village 🫶

I think I’m getting comfortable with street scenes now with the camera. Next is portraits and editing skin tones. Any volunteers? 😅

I bought some end-of-life, heavily reduced peonies and suddenly felt inspired 🌸

So the peonies and I had a very spontaneous 10-minute shoot in my kitchen.

Creativity is strange like that sometimes. Inspiration can arrive unexpectedly, but more often than not, it’s something you have to consciously make space for.

When your work depends on creativity, it becomes even more important to create without pressure, without purpose, and without it always needing to be for someone else. Otherwise the joy in it slowly disappears.

My biggest muses and accidental “idea testers” grew up (how rude of them 😜), so these days I have to look a little harder for those moments. To notice beauty. To follow curiosity. To create simply because I want to.

Because the more creatively fulfilled I feel, the more care, imagination, and inspiration I can bring into the work I create for my clients 🫶
