Giando Barbera Photography travel, adventure, landscape, wildlife, nature, fine art photography Creativity sets me free as I am free to use different forms of expressing myself.

I am inspired by creativity that natural talent which I discovered as a child and have always expressed with energy, vigour and dynamism. One such free form of expression is the art of photography. I love every single element that belongs to Mother Nature, the rain, sunset, waterfalls, the clouds, a wild horse, a fluttering fly. The ideal way to live these moments forever is to keep them alive thr

ough photography. Nature for me is massive, a beautiful supernatural being that covers me, wraps me, holds me, hugs me. When I am one with nature, the clock stops as I observe her for hours together. I strive to capture each sequence of nature’s fascinating evolution, scrutinizing her with expressive art as I give vent to my passions, emotions, fulfilling desires of my optical senses that capture nature at its purest form as it is reborn from what dies inside me.

During my adventure in Sicily, I reached Theatre Andromeda, a stone theatre carved into the mountains, far from everything loud or obvious.
I learned that it was created by a shepherd-artist, inspired by the Andromeda constellation—each seat aligned with a star, the whole space designed to connect earth, humans, and sky. It isn’t just a theatre for performances, but a place built to make you look up and feel where you stand in the universe.
Sitting there, I felt both grounded and weightless.
The stones were ancient, the idea eternal.
It reminded me that inspiration doesn’t always come from books or cities—sometimes it comes from silence, stars, and the courage to imagine something bigger than yourself.
I didn’t just visit a theatre.
I stepped inside a constellation.

Outside, the fog holds its breath.
Inside, a hundred lives exhale.
Each window — a small universe:
late dinners, soft laughter, tired eyes,
dreams glowing blue at 00 a.m.,
warm lights guarding sleepless hearts.
The city stays silent,
but the building speaks.
If you listen closely,
every window is a story
learning how to live in the dark.

In the forests of Ukraine, some churches learned how to hide.
Not to disappear—but to endure. 🌲⛪️
Holding prayers for peace until the path opens again.

Cornwall coast whispers stories of giants sleeping beneath the cliffs, sailors guided home by broken light, and winds that remember every footstep before ours. The rocks still hold their secrets, the sea still sings its old songs, and if you stand quietly enough, you can feel the past breathing with the tide — some places aren’t meant to be explained, only felt. #

Some journeys lead us across oceans, others lead us straight into the sky—where the aurora borealis drifts silently above frozen landscapes, turning the night into light and the moment into memory. This is why we chase horizons, why we wander north, and why nature always rewards those who wait ✨🌍💚

Kyiv lives in my memory —
a chapter I once breathed.
I remember the atmosphere,
the people,
the way the night lights softened the streets
and made silence glow.
There, I became part of another culture,
and somehow, it became part of me.
Different language, same humanity.
Strangers who felt familiar.
Moments that stayed.
Some places don’t just pass through your life —
they shape it.
And Kyiv…
I loved being there.

In the heart of the forest, where shadows whisper secrets, there is a cave guarded by
three bears 🐻🐻🐻 Not fierce… just ancient.
Keepers of stories older than time.
I stepped inside, and the cave breathed back.
Stone, silence, magic.
A place where courage is tested,
and wonder chooses who may enter.
Some places aren’t meant to be found.
They’re meant to find you ✨

🌫️ Where silence learns the language of light
🌿 Where the earth exhales in colour, texture, and shadow
🌄 Landscapes become feelings, not places
🎞️ Every frame a pause, every mood a quiet invitation to slow down
🍃 This is nature as a whisper, not a shout — a space to breathe, wander, and feel

Gower holds a unique place in Welsh history as one of the rare sites where the fearsome Vikings set foot on its shores. The influence of these seafaring Norsemen can still be seen in the local landscape, with names like Worm’s Head serving as a tangible reminder of their presence.

Derived from the ancient Norse term ‘Wurme’, meaning dragon or serpent, the name Worm’s Head eloquently captures the mystical essence of this rugged headland. Jutting out as the westernmost point of Gower, it features a rocky causeway that connects the islet to the mainland, forming a scene straight out of a saga.

According to local lore, the Vikings viewed the island as a slumbering dragon due to its distinctive shape, adding a touch of mystique to its already enigmatic allure. During stormy conditions, a blow-hole at the island’s edge produces eerie booming and hissing sounds, likely reinforcing the Vikings’ belief in the dragon’s presence and power.

A traditional Gower proverb warns: “The old Worm’s blowing, time for a boat to be going,” encapsulating the respect and caution that the locals hold for the enigmatic forces of nature that still echo the tales of ancient invaders.
