As it says in the picture, it's almost time fro our Summer Hols. We realised that we've been at the Stables for nearly 12 months and not had a break ! In reality we aren't going on our hols but we are having a bit of time off, We're here this Friday and Saturday as usual but then it's time to dig out the Gin ( Julie ) and Whisky (Me ) and put our feet up. Don't forget about the phone number either. After decades of use, our old landline disappears forever at the end of the month.

Our monthly reminder... Tomorrow, Sunday 2nd August is open day at The Stables, from 12 'til 4. Pop up and see us to have a chat, see all the lovely things that we and our neighbours make and sell and also to meet our newest arrival ! :-) Suzi is an illustrator and is happy to take commissions for all kinds of work. ADVANCE NOTICE.............Tomorrow ( Monday 27 July ) my broadband provider is being ( forcibly) changed from Plusnet to EE. I have been told that I MAY lose connectivity for a period. Sadly the instructions sent by EE with my new router are far from clear. They say they will contact me ( their contact so far has been by email ) to tell me when the old service has ended but BEFORE I can set my new service in operation.
I know I'm a bit slow but if I have no internet, how will they email me ?
Anyway...IF I am unavailable online for a while and you need to contact me, just ring or text me on 07812 659741 please.

Last Saturday, as I posted on here was manically busy. Today has been exactly the opposite due largely, we think, to the activities and attractions in nearby Oakhill Park grabbing everyones attention. It has however given us the opportunity to catch up with the backlog of work that we have in. We've had an interesting phone call though from a young lady who wanted to speak to Julie to book a female only swimming session !..Whilst it's not something we currently offer ( We stopped doing it around the time we finished doing passport photo's ) it sounds like a potential money spinner, so we'll be looking into it 😉

We've had a few enquiries about passport photo's this week. As you are probably aware, we no longer offer this service. However we can recommend our friend Alex in Clitheroe if you need yours doing. He offers all the specialist passport photo's that we used to do. He can be contacted on 07578 820846. On the subject of passport photographs, let's see if you recognise this handsome young man from his passport booth photo taken in 1968 (ish) 🙂

Wow, what a day we've had ! Been incredibly busy with visitors, paying customers and people buying Leo's paintings and to top it all I've just had a very enjoyable portrait shoot in the grounds of the Gallery with a lovely young lady who has just graduated. The best bit is that I photographed her Mums graduation 34 years ago ! Great day all round 🙂

As you may be aware our friend and neighbour here at The Stables, Leo Crabtree, passed away recently. A lovely man and a very talented artist, he left a large body of work here in his studio. We are posting this on behalf of his wife and family to let you know that this work is for sale and will be on display here until approximately 6th August. Please do come along and have a look. His varied approac means that there is a good selection of different subjects and styles to choose from
