Here you have the last post about the great snowfall of these days over Madrid. Snow has the ability to change the usual appearance of what surrounds us reducing forms to a more natural simplicity.

Travel photography allows me to discover new incredible places, but it also helps me to know the history, culture and customs of a people.
This is the case of Drangurinn, a mysterious giant rock that stands alone in the foothills of Eyjafjöll. A folk tale tells of a strong man named Grettir Ásmundsson who was showing off and ripped the giant rock straight off the Hrútafell cliff, leaving a chasm that is now over Skarðshlíð.
Beneath these rocks are caves and passages to which additional buildings have been added over the centuries. These buildings are a good example of what is called "fornmannahús" or old houses.
But the myths surrounding Drangurinn Rock don't stop with its strange arrival at its current location. The caves under the rock, where human farmers kept their cows and hay, are said to have been the home of the elves.
It doesn't matter if it is myth, legend or reality, the important thing is the knowledge and experience that it brings me.
