This is the time of year that the “older kids” are starting or heading back to university. For some families that means big moves and big changes.

Last night I met the sweetest family whos mom wanted to capture this moment before one kid heads back to BC and the other starts a new adventure in England.

What happens when a Winnipeg pet photographer is asked to shoot a campaign for an upcoming dog collar company?

I am not a commercial photographer but the subject and direction were exactly what and how I love to shoot. So I took advice from colleagues and went for it.

Crystal Wade was in incredible model and the puppies understood the assignment.

There are countless reasons why families plan photo sessions. This is one of this heavy ones.

This mom and daughter duo contacted me just a couple of days ago with a rush request: capture mom before cancer treatment causes hair loss and other physical changes. She has been fighting cancer since 2023, but this time the prognosis is the worst one possible.

I wish I had some witty anectdote. But some days and some shoots just hit really hard.

Outdoor family portrait photography - Winnipeg

Last night was simply perfect. The weather has cooled off, the sun was out and hardly a bug to bother us. Not to mention a family who shows up looking like models and the sweetest senior dog who lapped up all the special attention.

It’s that perfect “calm” before the back to school storm.
