Family sessions that tell your story are always my favourite. Carrie, Paul and the boys love spending winter evenings out on outdoor rinks, and 10 years ago they also captured their maternity session skating as well. Sentimental sessions for the win✨ 🫶🏼

With the cold winter weather arriving, so does at home session season✨. Don’t get me wrong, I love sessions where we frolic in a forest, but nothing quite hits like a cozy at home session🥰

Sometimes my job looks like emails from my at home office, meeting families out in the forest, hours of non stop editing, posting to Instagram while drinking coffee in my comfy blue chair or meeting an amazing couple out at Winnipeg Beach to capture their love in the most authentic way. It was an evening of bonfires, s’mores, spicy margaritas, puzzles, kitten cuddles and a walk along the beach. We literally captured these moments just in time! We moved up the session a few hours to hopefully miss the forecasted rain. It was the last day before they packed up the camper for the winter and as soon as I left the session it started to rain! Talk about meant to be ✨

This mini session was so dreamy ☁️✨
But here’s a secret, in moments there was chaos. But it was embraced. When J ran to go pick flowers instead of posing in a photo, mom and dad just took some photos of the two of them and some with D. Then she came back so proud of her bouquet and wanted them in the photos, her parents welcomed it. When smiles weren’t happening the kids got piggy backs, cuddled, thrown in the air and held upside down. What maybe felt like a “we hope there’s a good one in there” turned into a gallery of over 100 photos of love, smiles, laughs and memories. Oh ya, and it was a mini session 😉

Oh hi! It’s been a minute so I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Kelsey, the woman behind Chopp Photography! I’m a wife, mom of two boys, spin enthusiast, lake life lover, swiftie, I tolerate cooking and currently taking the authentic aging approach where I’m rocking my salt and pepper strands. My approach to photography is capturing genuine emotion whether that’s cuddling with your family, chasing after your toddler or absolutely owning your strength rocking it out on a spin bike! I’m currently in an editing cave, thank you to all my lovely clients who have been keeping me busy this season ❤️. Looking forward to working with more of you soon 😘

So grateful for all of you keeping me so busy this season! All of my minis this fall are filled with families that I’ve worked with many times before and it means the world to me to see you every year ✨ Ps every year while I edit this family’s photos I always think to myself how I want to buy the same glasses as Amanda… her eyewear game and outfits are always on point 🫶🏼

✨I’m baaaaack!✨ Thanks to all my clients who have been patient with me not booking fall sessions months in advance like I normally do. I’m finally open for bookings, woohoo! And have THREE fall mini dates and locations in the works this year which are dropping TOMORROW! Who’s excited? 🙋🏻‍♀️

None of my spring sessions made it on here (too busy with my own family life to spend time posting) but here’s a summer one and maybe I’ll get back into the swing of things with the gram.
