You know what they say; if you want to live forever inspire a poet, photographer, or an artist. So, basically look cool smoking a cigarette and if I spot you I will 10/10 approach you & ask to turn you into art. The cool thing about the whole approaching strangers bit is that you learn really dope things about them—- like this server is Spain who uses no social media but is an incredible artist and the paintings he showed me he painted of his mother were like nothing I had ever seen. Humans are fascinating creatures when we pause long enough to study them.

You must have a friend group that consists of: One make -up artist, one hair stylist, 2-3 photographers, 1 videographer, at least one who is happily married, another who is happily divorced, some who are mothers and others childless, some older & some younger, and all who love you as much as they love to travel.

When the funniest most beautiful woman in your friend group texts you and says, wanna go to Spain? 🇪🇸 it’s gonna be a yes from me. Gahhhh NJ/Philadelphia Photographer 🌙 makes Canada look GOOD. The best part of this beautiful craft is all the women I get to meet and the most annoying part is how far away they live. This chick is cool. I wanna be her friend. Look how cute her kids are.

We drove far between two locations to get the shots I envisioned for this session for this Philly fam and Megan was so in, easy going, beautiful, and had her crew styled to perfection. I loved this day so so much and am so grateful to have photographed with a talented photographer in the Rocky Mountains.🏔️

I heard Oprah say her soul is ten gallons of love trying to force pint size people to hold her heart.

I wish more people would stop trying to be easy to love. Human beings have so much more capacity than we give ourselves credit for. We have survived famine and world wars. Surely, we can handle a broken heart.

I find myself saying, “don’t break my heart” out loud a lot lately, but what I think I’m really saying is, I hope I don’t break yours which I’ve been known to do a time or two.

I spent my life not knowing how easy I was to love gripping too tight to pint size lovers and trying to shove my own 10 gallons into spaces that couldn’t hold me.

When I stopped gripping, love didn’t quit. The lovers I shrank for didn’t run when I expanded. They stayed, they begged, and I ironically, I ran. I ran back into the arms of the one who has always had 10 gallons of love to give me. Me.

And now before bed I hold my own hand and feel the delicacy of my fingers.
I say “I love you” out loud until I really hear it.

I am ten gallons of love and passion and grief and anger and excitement and wild and I will run wild through this beautiful life with those who are just as wild to run with.

My latest time in the desert was a tripppp. I snapped a few photos for Cindy Jane Boutique then embarked on a solo mission with my rented mustang convertible and the desert heat. I met incredible artists, vintage shop owners & designers, photographers, and strangers during my four days exploring Palm desert, Joshua Tree, and Yucca. I hit every thrift shop I could find, ate pineapple dole whip more than once, and found myself at home staying at Airbnb in Joshua Tree.

Airbnb in Joshua Tree is nestled into the JT hills. I woke early with the sun, enjoyed the hot tub & cold dip in the cowboy pool, sat in the fire pit, and photographed each carefully curated part of my home away from home.

I ended the trip driving to Orange county, lying alone at the beach, then finding a burger shack with an insane view & chatting with strangers until sunset.

California is my lover & she never disappoints me.

While I was editing this session my daughter leaned over and said, “Mom is that a Barbie?”. Then she leaned in closer and said, “Wait, that’s a human?!”. To which I replied, yes sweetie that’s our hair stylist INCHES BY ASHLEY. From the mouths of babes and I couldn’t have said it any better myself 🤍🫦💋

I remember when I used to post everyday and now I hardly ever do, as I age and grow my relationship to art and consumption has become both slower & more meaningful. This collection of maternity art with Taylor Braun reminded me how much I love photographing baby bellies. Taylor, you’re a gift to photograph and to know.

Wedding galleries are my favourite collection of moments between two people and their families. The experience of being able to capture the love between two people over a few days at a destination wedding is such a beautiful feeling and I’m so grateful for the forever memories and relationships born from this gig. 💗
