Shared in a pretty epic adventure with K&V šŸšā›°ļø

And it almost didnā€™t happen. The weather was unpredictable but with a break in visibility just as I arrived our incredible pilot Ned took us on a beautiful ride and found us a surprise dream waterfall and turquoise water.

I didnā€™t grow up in sports but now Iā€™m the mom of two competitive swimmers, and itā€™s a role I never could have imagined.

Support. Feed. Drive. Cheer. Plan. Repeat.
And just when I think Iā€™ve figured it out, thereā€™s a new challenge, a new qualifying time, an injury, a new pool, a new lesson. Itā€™s a rollercoaster, but one I wouldnā€™t trade for anything.

This past season was incredible, and Iā€™m so proud of both of our boys for their energy, resilience and for their strong sense of team in this individual sport. Oh yes, and the swimming was pretty great too!ļæ½
Alistair started the season with a broken arm, and at the time it felt devastating. What followed was an incredible reminder of the strength of our swim family and community. They helped him stay positive until he was healthy enough to jump back into training in January. He worked so hard, qualified for Divisionals for the first time, and finished the season stronger than ever.

Oliver trained with incredible focus all year while balancing a demanding training, school and coaching workload. He set his sights on qualifying for Canadian Trials and came heartbreakingly close, missing the standard by just 0.03 seconds at the Mel Zajac International meet at UBC. Thatā€™s the reality of this sport and itā€™s tough. But instead of letting it define him, he kept showing up. He finished the season at Divisionals earning huge personal bests, podium finishes, and proving that resilience is just as important as results.

I also want to express my immense gratitude to the local businesses who sponsored Oliver and Alistair through the Campbell River Killer Whales this season. Your support helped make it possible for them to train, travel, and compete at meets that continue to shape them as athletes and as young people.

15 years of photographing Kingston and his family.
From a little toddler running around in front of my lens at Holly Hill Farm to a graduate. Ready for the next chapter and all that is waiting ahead.
And somehow it feels like it happened all at once.
I think thatā€™s the thing about these big milestones. You know theyā€™re coming, but then suddenly theyā€™re here. The little versions of them are still so easy to see, even as they stand in front of you all grown up.
What an incredible thing it has been to watch your story unfold over the years, Kingston.
And ending this chapter by sharing the last bit of golden light with Rylee along the Campbell River, with not another soul aroundā€¦ it was absolute magic.
Congratulations, Kingston. So proud of you and excited for everything ahead. šŸŽ“

2026 Grads, you've officially made it to the final whistle!

Years of studying, late nights, deadlines, exams, friendships, and unforgettable memories have all led to this moment.

The big feelings that come with capturing grads this year has been unreal šŸŽ“

When Caoimhe stepped out of the car I struggled to hold back the tears. Iā€™ve had the privilege of photographing Caoimhe for 15 years. My first ever fall mini sessions in 2011, to her parentā€™s surprise elopement, the addition of her baby brother, and over the years of both of them growing up.

And now Caoimhe is officially graduated and off to pursue nursing. This new season of life. Itā€™s all so incredible and wonderful and I can feel how all these grad parentā€™s hearts are bursting with pride and at the same time holding onto little them.

It was the hottest day of the year, so we escaped into the forest in the evening where the air was a little cooler. After sunset, we drove a few minutes to take in an incredible ocean view, and as the sky turned the softest shades of pink, we made one last stop at the beach before heading home.

And as we said goodbye, I caught a glimpse of little Caoimhe again. Scroll all the way to the end to see that sweet little face.

Congratulations, Caoimhe. Iā€™m so proud of you, and so grateful Iā€™ve had the honour of documenting so many chapters of your story. What an incredible adventure awaits.

Grad season is an emotional one, but when I had these two in front of my lens, my heart fully burst.
Iā€™ve photographed Keyana for over 10 years, and watched them both swim with my kids for 5 years. They are part of our extended swim family and to see Keyana and Zac crush their goals alongside each other has been so much fun.

Congratulations 2026 GRADS šŸŽ“

Big feelings were had watching these grads walk down the foreshore, I realized how many of them have been in front of my lens over the last 15 years. I can still picture little versions of themā€¦ running on the beach, exploring the forest with their families, swimming alongside my own kids, dancing, laughing, and celebrating lifeā€™s milestones.

One of the greatest gifts of being a photographer in a community like this is witnessing these stories unfold over time. Somehow, in what feels like the blink of an eye, those little faces have become graduates.

Next year itā€™s my own kid, along with a whole big group Iā€™ve watched grow since babies. Iā€™m going to be a puddle. A happy, proud, emotional puddle.

I tried to snap a photo of every grad, some were a little too close together. When I complete the gallery a link will be sent to the school to share with parents/caregivers of the grads. No charge. Just happy to share with my community ā¤ļø
