When it rains on your helicopter mountaintop wedding, you embrace it. 🌧️

Perspective over everything.

After their heli wedding with 49 North Helicopters, Deborah messaged me:

“Everything was perfect yesterday! We embraced the rain and had so much fun sludging around in the wet!”

Future couples, take note. ☔️ The weather is just part of the adventure. Congrats Deborah and Daniel, thank you for having me along for the ride 💚

What does being Dutch, Canadian, and living in Norway have in common?

A love for meaningful connection, family, and the outdoors.

For their wedding day at Browns Bay Resort, these two wanted to be surrounded by the natural beauty of Vancouver Island and the people they love most. Their sweet son Emerson was the heart of the celebration, bringing smiles everywhere he went and reminding everyone what this day was really about.

As the sun set, they wowed their guests with an incredible salsa first dance that had everyone cheering. But the fun didn’t stop there. Jeroen’s sister took to the dance ofloor and taught the entire wedding how to salsa, turning an already unforgettable evening into one giant celebration.

From heartfelt moments to laughter, dancing, and so much love, this day was a perfect reflection of the life they’ve built together. 🤍

A day filled with cinematic references inspired by The Princess Bride and Les Misérables, woven together through deep connection, choreographed dances, and heartfelt details.

The bride’s mom transformed the space with magical florals, while Megan and Devon personalized the weekend with handwritten letters for each guest, thoughtfully placed at every seat.

The venue and staff were completely dialled in, allowing every moment to feel relaxed, hopeful, and full of possibility.

Congrats to Megan and Devon ✨

I love beautiful, thoughtful, creative celebrations filled with real emotion, genuine connections and quiet moments 🩷

And that’s all I’ve got to say about that ✨

I heard talk about how the song Buckle almost didn’t get released as she thought the lyrics were embarrassing and too vulnerable.

It is one of my favorites off her new album

It got me thinking about all the art we make and don’t share. The songs tucked away in closets, paintings under the stars. Photographs so beautiful and never printed and displayed.

What would the world be if we all kept it all packed and locked up so perfectly that we didn’t let amazing things out into the world for fear of them being too embarrassing, too cringe, too real, too vulnerable.

Our job as creatives is just to keep creating. What others think of our creations is none of our concern or none of our business really.

Sing on Friends. Create all the beautiful things 🩷and please share them with the world.

Meeting the new baby LOVE

5 photography tips for photographing a newborn session with siblings.

1. Treats/snacks/gummies

2. Sibling Breaks. As many as needed. They can take a time out with one parent or grandparent etc to regroup, jump on couch, watch a show etc.

3. Be patient. A great idea to feed newborn as much as possible before your session and as much during session as needed. This goes for older siblings too.

4. Expect the unexpected. Diaper blowouts, wardrobe malfunctions, sibling meltdowns. Stay calm and roll with it.

5. Remember it can be an overwhelming time full of different emotions for little ones. If they’re nervous of the baby or not interested I like to gently ask questions about the new baby?. “Does she smell like candy? I think her hair smells like chocolate!!! “ to get them curious and close instead of just forcing them to sit and kiss their sibling etc.

Be patient and stay present🫶🏻

Did I plan on becoming a dance mom.
No.
Am I mad about it.
Also no.

A moment on stage tonight as the girls were getting notes from for the opening number of Sneek Peek show where the dancers debut their competitive routines for the upcoming season.

The whole show is amazing as always but it’s these in between moments of how it all comes together and a flicker of perfect stage lights that I love maybe the most.

Go get em dancers. Can’t wait for you to dazzle us all, all weekend.
