One question I get asked sometimes is why I reserve up to 2 hours for every cake smash session when the actual session is much shorter.

The answer is simple: babies don’t always follow the schedule🤭

Sometimes a nap runs late. Sometimes they need a snack before leaving the house. Sometimes they arrive and just need a few extra minutes to warm up to a new place.

I’d much rather start 30-60 minutes later than planned than rush a tired, hungry baby through a session.

The best photos happen when your little one is happy, comfortable, and ready to explore.

That’s why I always leave extra time in my schedule, I want to keep the experience relaxed and stress-free for both babies and parents!

One of the most important parts of a successful cake smash session is choosing the right time.

I always recommend scheduling the session around your baby’s routine, not yours. A well-rested and fed baby is much more likely to enjoy the experience, smile, explore the cake, and have fun.

That’s also why I reserve a 2-hour time slot for every cake smash session, even though we rarely need all of that time.

Babies don’t always stick to their schedule. Sometimes they take a shorter nap, fall asleep later than usual, or decide they’re hungry right before leaving the house. And honestly, it’s much better if parents arrive 30-60 minutes later than planned than if we start with an overtired, hungry, upset baby while everyone is feeling stressed.

My goal is never to rush your child. I prefer to follow their pace and give them time to settle in so we can capture genuine smiles, curiosity, and all those little moments that make these photos special.

A little flexibility goes a long way when it comes to one-year-olds. 😊

Just a quick important reminder!

I usually book sessions on Saturdays only (and very occasionally on Sundays) and take just 2–3 sessions per week. Because of that, I always recommend booking in advance if you have a specific date in mind.

Also we’ll be away on vacation in August, so my availability will be very limited.

The only remaining openings in August are:

• August 2 - 1 session available
• August 22 - 1 session available
• August 23 - 1 session available

August 1 is already fully booked.

And that’s all the availability I have left for August 😊

There is something so special about capturing your baby’s first days in the place where your story is just beginning, at home ❤️

No packing, no rushing, no leaving the house with a newborn. I come to you and document these quiet moments exactly as they are: tiny fingers, sleepy cuddles, proud parents, and the love that fills your home.

In-home newborn sessions are relaxed and baby-led. We take our time, pause for feeding and soothing, and create natural images that feel warm, intimate, and timeless.
