Can we talk about that feeling for a sec?

You know the one. You’re scrolling, you see photos like these, and something in your chest just… pulls. And then you close the app and tell yourself it’s too late, or it’s too expensive, or you’ll just do it next time.

Mama, I see you. I’ve been there.

I wasn’t planning on sharing this just yet.

I was going to hold off until the end of June to open my books for September and October, but so many families have already been enquiring that I thought I better act.

Past clients have had access to my available dates for a few days and those on my mailing list for 48 hours then they are open to all!

September and October is such a beautiful time of year, the air is warming up, the days are longer and barefoot adventures are welcomed.

Oooh what’s this new feature on Instagram… let’s give it a go! 👀 As you swipe through, the caption changes with each image. How cool is that! Right, let’s get into it, because this session deserves every single word.
This is what a few weeks in looks like. Beautiful, real, and completely theirs.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

There is something about photographing a family in their own space. The light, the textures, the little details that make a house feel like a home. This is where their story lives.

A few weeks old and already so present. Wide eyes taking it all in. The world is very new and very big.

Big sister still not quite sure what to make of this tiny new person. But watching closely. So carefully. That mix of unsure and completely smitten is everything.

She wasn’t sure. And then she was. That’s the thing about big sisters, something just kicks in.

The way a mum holds her newborn. Like she already knows every inch of them. Because she does.

There are no words for the way a dad looks at their baby in those first few weeks. So I just try to capture it instead.

We read books. Paused. Laughed. Let the twenty month old turn the pages at her own pace. This is what a session with me actually looks like.

Sometimes the best images happen when nobody is trying. When everyone just forgets I’m there.

She made me laugh all session. Inquisitive, caring, completely herself. Already the best big sister.

Tiny fingers. The weight of them in your hand. You think you’ll remember every detail. Photographs make sure you do.

Those cheeks. Those lips. That perfect little face that you could stare at for hours. Fast asleep, not a care in the world, held by the person who would move mountains for them.

So many mums come to their session a little hidden, nervous, and naturally a little worried about their changing body.

But this stunning mum to be also knew the journey it took to get here. And she knew she owed it to herself to capture this chapter.

So she showed up. And I took care of the rest.

By the end we were laughing into the wind, bump out, completely in the moment. That’s what I love most about this work, watching someone arrive a little unsure, and leave feeling happy, relaxed and excited.

That’s all you ever have to do. Show up. I’ve got you from there.

This chapter is so brief. The bump, the weight of it, the way your hand rests on it without thinking, that disappears almost overnight.

Can we talk about winter light for a second?
Because I genuinely think it’s some of the most beautiful light of the whole year. Golden, soft, warm in a way that summer light just isn’t. And the layers, the knits, the cosy outfits, they add so much texture and depth to images.
Autumn and winter sessions are honestly some of my favourites to shoot. The colours, the mood, the way everything just feels a little slower and more intentional.

If you’ve been putting off booking because you were waiting for ‘better weather’, I’d gently nudge you to reconsider. This is the good weather. For photos, anyway.
