We all have those mornings.
The toddler refusing to wear clothes, deciding that gumboots and a nappy is a completely acceptable winter outfit. The dishes piled up in the sink. The nap window you had set aside for yourself, gone, because they had other plans.
I still have those mornings fourteen years later. Trust me.
When I got the message that morning that this little love had skipped her nap and was having a rough few days, I just reassured them. Even if she was unsettled it was okay. I am there to help and we will get the moments. A baby being unsettled is something that happens, I expect it, I reassured them to just stay calm and we will follow her lead.
And that is exactly what we did. We rocked her, fed her, held her close and let her set the pace.
Then this landed in my inbox afterwards.
“Thanks so much for today, you were so great with her. Sorry it was a bit chaotic at the end. Looking forward to seeing how the pics turn out especially after a really emotional few days, I’m glad I pushed and got them done.”
I’m so glad she pushed too.
Come as you are. We will always figure it out together.
