To all the dads, I hope you had a great day spent with the ones you love.

A big Happy Father’s Day to the glue that holds us all together. We appreciate everything you do and all that you do for us.

And to my Dad, thank you for everything you do and for always supporting me in everything I do including spending days painting my studio so I could get in there as soon as possible.

A little behind the scenes of me doing my thing

I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted that this is what I get to do for a job.

I get to meet so many beautiful people, hear little bits of their stories and spend time with their families while I’m doing something I bloody love.

There’s usually a fair bit of walking around, crouching down, chasing kids and trying to catch the moment before it disappears

But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have a bit of anxiety around hospitals from my own birth experiences and also from Roy’s last operation. It’s something I usually just push to the back of my mind and don’t really think about, until I’m sitting here in a hospital and suddenly it’s right at the front again.

I’m sitting here waiting for Willa to come out from her little procedure and obviously I’m putting on my brave face for her, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking about the last time I had to take Roy for surgery.

When he came out of recovery he was in complete shock and just couldn’t calm down. He ended up having to be sedated twice and it’s honestly something I’ll never forget.

I know Willa won’t wake up the same way, but that doesn’t stop the little “what if?” thoughts from creeping in. Everything with Willa seems to be different in so many ways, so it’s a strange feeling going into this knowing what happened with Roy.

Anyway, hopefully I won’t be sitting here for too much longer and she will come out and I can give her a big cuddle.

Well lucky for you, I will literally travel anywhere ✈️

I’ve been to Darwin, Kangaroo Valley, Hay, Harden, Henty, Deniliquin and plenty of other places for weddings, and honestly, I LOVE it.

I love getting to meet new people, see new places and, most of all, getting to photograph your wedding somewhere that actually means something to you.

Maybe it’s your family’s property, the town you grew up in, your favourite holiday spot or somewhere you’ve always dreamed of getting married.

So if you’re thinking, “I’d love her to photograph our wedding, but we don’t live anywhere near Wagga” just send me a message!

Photos aren’t something you’re going to do every day, and sometimes all you really need is the right person to make you feel comfortable enough to just be yourself.

To let your guard down, stop thinking about the camera and just take a moment to play, laugh and be with your family.

You don’t have to know what to do, you don’t have to be good at photos, you don’t even have to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I’m there to help you with all of that, and most importantly, let you just be you and enjoy your family while I capture it all.

A little reminder for anyone who books a session with me

It is more than okay to say no to having your photos shared on social media.

I love being able to share the beautiful families, little moments and memories I get to photograph, but I also completely understand that not everyone wants their photos online and that is absolutely okay.

There are so many different reasons someone may choose to keep their photos private, and you never need to explain why.

When you book with me, sharing your images is never a requirement. You can happily say no, and it will never change the way I photograph you, the experience you have with me, or how much I love your session.

Today felt like a good mix of everything.

Family time, heading to the gym like we do every Saturday, photographing a newborn in my home studio, a Bunnings trip because the kids wanted to plant some flowers and finishing the day with a family session with a family I’ve been lucky enough to photograph before.

A friend reminded me recently that we can’t spend our whole lives working. We need to have hobbies, make memories and actually enjoy the life we’re working so hard for.

It’s something I’m definitely trying to be more mindful of. There will always be work to do, but there won’t always be these little moments with our kids
