Unseen

This image is part of my series The Sunless Earth. In this work, I explore a feeling I experienced as a child, every time I closed my eyes, I was afraid I wouldn’t see again. Later, I learned this fear has a name: nyctophobia. It’s connected to anxieties about the future and the unknown.

Thanks to for helping me to bring this to life and stepping in front of the camera.

You can check the full series on my site.

The Weight of Stories

This image captures a collection of letters gathered as part of the performative work of my friend Carlos. As an immigrant and artist from Colombia, he invited fellow immigrants to share their thoughts and feelings, forming his body of work Dust to Dust.

I documented this process a few years back, and now it’s part of his show. If you’re around Waverley, go check it out at the council library.

Electronights

Fragments from a recent night with marton creating some music. I love observing and listening to the process, layering sounds, building songs piece by piece.

If you’re around Bondi tomorrow, he’ll be playing some of his latest work.

Dust to Dust

Carlos is a performative artist based in Sydney, and a very good friend of mine. I met him in 2016, a few years after I moved to Australia, and since then I’ve been documenting his performances.

This image is part of his work Dust to Dust; a reflection on immigration, identity, and our connection to the land we live in. On this performance, Carlos explored some of the more intricate and deeply human aspects of belonging.

This photograph, along with the rest of the act documentation, will be part of a temporary exhibition at Waverley Library, opening this Thursday at 5,30
pm. Come and say hi!

Made in Spain Vol. III

Last year I crossed part of my homeland by road. This collection of images is my way of dissecting it, searching for meaning in its people, landscapes, gastronomy, and rural life.
