Happy Multiple Birth Awareness Week 💕

and I cannot think of a more appropriate poster girl for this theme than Leila .
Leila is mama to two sets of twins- here she is in December awaiting her second set. Leila walks the talk of creating support for mothers. Her online presence is a constant source of information, from sharing her birth plan with countless twin mamas to showing that mothering twins don’t have to mean syncing feeds and sleeps- that intuitively following their individual needs is not only possible but makes life much more enjoyable…
Her postpartum directory and her postpartum cookbook are incredible resources and to top it all off, she’s an epic human and a friend I am so grateful to have.

Leila and her second set of twins, babies four and five.
Getting to know this amazing woman over the past few years has been such a dang treat. She wrote a postpartum cookbook called Village for Mama with the genius touch of having recipe cards enclosed, which you can hand out at your mother blessing or baby shower to give your village guidance on what to cook you once your babe(s) arrives.
She advocates for strongly calling in your village for the postpartum period, giving mothers and families permission to accept help, and how to navigate specific needs for those tender weeks after a woman gives birth.

I’ve loved witnessing her truly embody all that she stands for as her family welcomed two sets of twins, 2.5 years apart.

So many of us find it hard to accept the help that so many of our village are willing to give. Thanks for giving us the nudge x

So bloody lovely to once again be included in the magazine.
The first issue of this magazine was divine- to see the collective works of this amazing community curated together in print was so inspiring, and a true testament to vision of bringing together a vast array of artists from all over the world. Many of these artists are mothers, therefore holding a deep understanding of how this role can leave you deeply inspired, swamped and stretched, simultaneously.

This photograph of deep in labour, in an outdoor bath on the mountaintop in the middle of the winter with her love calmly watching on, holds a very special place for me.

I cannot wait to get my hands on issue 2, and for it to join issue 1 on my bookshelf.

Chances are, your partner will be the person closest to you during your labour. They will likely be the person you reach to for comfort, reassurance, physical support, steadiness and regulation.

You damn well want to make sure they’re solid.
