Ah the beach, my happy place.
If there’s a bit of sun you can guarantee that me and my family will be at the beach at least once during the weekend.
I love the winter sun, warm enough to sit in a T-shirt but cool enough not to get sweaty or to have sweaty sun cream covered kids climbing on you!

Did you know that winter is the perfect time for your family photoshoot?

Here’s why:
- sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous this time of year
- sunset is earlier in the day; no need to keep little ones up past their bedtime
- sunrise is later, making it perfect for you early risers
- embrace the cold for gorgeous snuggled up photos in blankets
- textured knitwear looks fab in a photograph!

This shoot!! What can I say, I am in love with this session. It was so special to me.

This is my friend Katie and her gorgeous family. Katie and I had our babies within a few months of each other during one of our many lockdowns here in Sydney. During this particular lockdown we could only go out within 5km of our households, which makes your world very small, especially with a new baby! Katie and I managed to find a place which just overlapped both her and my 5km radius and we would meet up for a (socially distant) walk together with the babies in the carrier. This was such a saving grace during those crazy times and I am so grateful for her happy smile, positive demeanour and friendship.

Now life for us is so hectic we don’t get to meet up very often, which is why I was so delighted to do this shoot for her family and to get a chance to catch up a bit.
So happy to have you in my life Katie and looking forward to the next catch up soon!

That love a mother has for her daughter will last a lifetime.

I recently went back to the UK for a whirlwind visit for a week, and left my hubby in charge of our daughters. It was a really weird trip for me, staying back at my Mums house and spending some quality time with her, but being away from my own daughters in the process. It felt like I had gone back in time about 10 years!!
It was amazing though, lovely to spend quality time with my Mum and friends whilst giving my husband and girls some quality time together. I missed my family like crazy but it was so nice to have some time just to be “me” and not only “mum”.

What are some things you do to just be “me”?

This families’ smiles were just infectious. 😊

Being a photographer Mum can be hard, it’s tough to find that balance at times, but when I get to meet all of these wonderful families, share in your joy and to hear your stories - that just makes it all worth while. I love this job so much and I’m so lucky I get to enjoy it with you in these stunning locations Sydney has to offer.

I have completely come off the rails with my p52 challenge the past few weeks; starting a new job, owning a photography business and being a Mummy to two small whirlwind girls has overtaken my life recently, not to mention trying to find a spare moment to go to the gym or do anything that doesn’t involve work or a playground! Phew, the struggle is real, but I’ve been trying to give myself a break and just do the very best that I can. I really want to catch up with the p52 over the coming weeks, but for now I thought this weeks monochromatic theme was a good place to jump back in with this session favourite of mine from a recent shoot.
