Dreamy in home newborn sessions 💫🌸

What an honour this was - to be asked to photograph this beautiful family before they move from their family home and lose their childhood doggo 🐶
Ash, that booked me, is a wedding photographer in Sydney and it’s also the first time I’d done an in home session with adult children, so I was nervous! But far out we had some fun! There was no tantrums or snotty noses or any of the difficult things that come with photographing toddlers 😂 but there was still so much fun, love and joy. It was actually an incredible experience 🥰
We captured a bunch of things they grew up doing, in the place they’ve always called home. Watching the footy, playing pool, playing basketball, making cups of tea and having quiet moments sitting on the deck together after a hard day at school. We walked to their beach and loved on Cookie as much as they possibly could 🍪🐶
What an incredible bunch of memories to now be able to look back at, from a home and puppy that are now gone 🥹

Here’s a reminder to step outside your comfort zone and do things that you wouldn’t usually do and seem a little scary 🤍

Sweet baby Ivy 🌸

When choosing a date for your newborn session, there are two options I suggest. Some people love that sleepy, tiny newborn feel - usually bubba sleeps majority of the shoot, they’re easier to pose and hold in certain positions, you get to remember all their features when they’re super duper fresh. For this I recommend before 2 weeks old.

Some people wish to wait until 6-8 weeks old, when your baby is starting to lose that tiny newborn look and come into their own little face, we can aim to catch smiles, yawns, their big bright eyes, along with all their little creases and features.

Both moments in time are so precious and hold special memories that I have always been so desperate to capture, because far out time goes way too fast and before you know it, they’re 2 years old and legging it away from you naked covered in dirt 🥹
